Setup and Initial Operation
Winding the Watch
Your Oris watch is equipped with an automatic mechanical movement. It is powered by the natural motion of your wrist. If the watch has stopped or has not been worn for an extended period, it may require manual winding.
- Unscrew the crown counter-clockwise to position 1 (winding position).
- Turn the crown clockwise approximately 20-30 times. This will provide sufficient power reserve to start the watch.
- Push the crown back in and screw it clockwise to ensure water resistance.
Setting the Time and Date
- Unscrew the crown counter-clockwise.
- Pull the crown out to position 2 (date setting position). Turn the crown clockwise or counter-clockwise to set the date. Avoid setting the date between 9 PM and 3 AM, as this can damage the movement.
- Pull the crown out further to position 3 (time setting position). The second hand will stop. Turn the crown to set the hour and minute hands. To ensure accuracy, set the time a few minutes ahead and then turn it back to the correct time.
- Once the time and date are set, push the crown back into position 1 and screw it clockwise firmly against the case to maintain water resistance.
Operating the Chronograph
The chronograph function allows you to measure elapsed time independently of the main time display.
- Start: Press the top pusher (A) to start the chronograph second hand.
- Stop: Press the top pusher (A) again to stop the chronograph. The elapsed time (seconds and minutes) will be displayed on the sub-dials.
- Reset: After stopping the chronograph, press the bottom pusher (B) to reset all chronograph hands to zero.
Note: Do not operate the chronograph pushers underwater, as this can compromise the watch's water resistance.
Water Resistance
Your Oris Divers Sixty-Five Chronograph watch is water-resistant up to 100 meters (330 feet). This rating makes it suitable for swimming, snorkeling, and light recreational diving. However, it is not intended for saturation diving.
- Always ensure the crown is fully screwed down before exposing the watch to water.
- Do not operate the crown or pushers while the watch is wet or submerged.
- After exposure to saltwater, rinse the watch with fresh water and dry it thoroughly with a soft cloth.
- Water resistance is not a permanent condition and may be affected by aging gaskets or accidental impacts. It is recommended to have the water resistance checked annually by an authorized service center.

Maintenance and Care
Cleaning
To clean your watch, use a soft, damp cloth. For stubborn dirt, a mild soap solution can be used, ensuring the crown is fully screwed down. Rinse thoroughly with fresh water and dry immediately.
Leather Strap Care
The leather strap is susceptible to wear and tear from moisture, sweat, and direct sunlight. To prolong its life:
- Avoid prolonged exposure to water.
- Clean with a dry, soft cloth.
- Allow it to air dry naturally if it gets wet.
- Avoid direct contact with cosmetics, perfumes, and chemical products.
Service
Like any precision instrument, your mechanical watch requires periodic servicing to ensure its accuracy and reliability. It is recommended to have your Oris watch serviced every 3-5 years by an authorized Oris service center.
