Safety Information

Read all instructions carefully before installation and use. Failure to follow these instructions may result in property damage, injury, or death.

  • This device is designed for indoor use only.
  • Do not paint the detector. Paint may clog the openings and interfere with proper operation.
  • Do not block the air inlet or speaker.
  • Regularly test the detector as per the operating instructions.
  • In case of an alarm, immediately ventilate the area and contact emergency services if necessary.
  • Ensure proper placement: Install the detector in areas where gas leaks or carbon monoxide accumulation are most likely, such as kitchens, near gas appliances, or sleeping areas. Avoid dead air spaces, direct sunlight, or areas with high humidity.

Installation:

  1. Choose a suitable location for the detector, ideally near gas appliances or in areas prone to gas leaks, but away from direct drafts or extreme temperatures.
  2. Plug the detector directly into a standard AC90-240V wall outlet.
  3. Upon initial power-up, the detector will undergo a self-test and warm-up period, typically lasting about 3 minutes. During this time, the display may show a countdown or specific indicators.
  4. Ensure the 9V rechargeable backup battery is installed to provide continuous protection during power outages.

Operating Instructions

Normal Operation:

  • Once the warm-up period is complete, the detector will enter normal monitoring mode. The "POWER" light (green) will be illuminated.
  • The LCD display will typically show "0" or a low reading, indicating no dangerous gas levels.

Alarm Conditions:

  • If combustible gas or carbon monoxide reaches a dangerous level, the detector will:
    • Sound a loud audible alarm (>85 dB).
    • Flash the "ALARM" light (red).
    • Display the detected gas concentration value on the LCD screen.
  • To silence the alarm, press the "TEST & RESET" button. The alarm will stop, but the display will continue to show the gas concentration until the air clears.

Test Function:

  • Press and hold the "TEST & RESET" button to manually test the alarm function. The alarm will sound, and the lights will flash. Release the button to stop the test.
  • Regular testing is recommended to ensure the detector is functioning correctly.

Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Gently wipe the detector with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use cleaning solvents or polishes. Do not spray cleaning agents directly onto the detector.
  • Battery Check: The 9V rechargeable battery provides backup power. Ensure it is properly installed and charged. The detector will indicate low battery status if applicable.
  • Regular Testing: Test the detector weekly by pressing the "TEST & RESET" button to ensure the alarm and lights are working.

Troubleshooting

ProblemPossible CauseSolution
Detector does not power on.No power from outlet; faulty outlet; internal issue.Check power outlet with another device. Ensure detector is fully plugged in. If problem persists, contact support.
Alarm sounds frequently without apparent gas.False alarm due to strong odors (e.g., cleaning products, paint fumes); sensor contamination.Ventilate the area. Relocate the detector if it's consistently exposed to non-gas fumes. Clean the detector.
"FAULT" light is on.Internal malfunction or sensor error.Press the "TEST & RESET" button. If the fault light remains, the unit may need replacement.
LCD display shows "A" or other error code.Indicates an alarm condition or a specific error.Refer to the operating instructions for specific error codes. If "A" indicates alarm, follow alarm procedures.

What to do if the alarm sounds:

  1. Do not panic.
  2. Immediately open all windows and doors to ventilate the area.
  3. Turn off all gas appliances and sources.
  4. If the alarm continues, evacuate the premises and call your gas supplier or fire department from a safe location.
  5. Do not re-enter the premises until the gas has dissipated and the cause of the leak has been identified and rectified.
