Safety Information

Setup and Fit

1. Initial Inspection

Before first use, carefully inspect your helmet for any signs of damage from shipping. Check the shell, visor, chin strap, and all moving parts for proper function.

2. Sizing and Proper Fit

A helmet must fit snugly and comfortably. To check the fit:

1. Place the helmet on your head, ensuring it sits level and covers your forehead.
2. The cheek pads should press firmly against your cheeks.
3. With the chin strap unfastened, try to rotate the helmet from side to side and front to back. If the helmet slides easily, it is too large. The skin on your head should move with the helmet.
4. Fasten the chin strap securely.

3. Chin Strap Fastening

The chin strap must always be securely fastened. The Atom SV Divergence A12 typically uses a micrometric buckle system. To fasten:

1. Insert the toothed strap into the buckle until it is snug against your throat.
2. Pull on the strap to ensure it is locked. It should not be uncomfortably tight, but tight enough that you cannot pull the helmet off your head when pulling upwards from the rear.
3. To release, lift the red lever on the buckle and pull the strap out.

Operating Your Helmet

1. Visor Operation

The clear outer visor can be opened and closed using the tab located at the bottom center or side of the visor. It features multiple detent positions to allow for varying levels of airflow.

2. Modular Chin Bar Mechanism

The Atom SV Divergence A12 is a modular (flip-up) helmet. To raise the chin bar:

1. Locate the release button or lever, typically found on the front center of the chin bar.
2. Press the button and simultaneously lift the chin bar upwards until it locks into its fully open position.
3. To close, press the release button again (if required by design) and push the chin bar down firmly until it clicks securely into the closed position. Ensure it is fully latched before riding.

3. Internal Sun Visor

Your helmet is equipped with an internal drop-down sun visor. Operate it using the slider mechanism located on the side of the helmet (usually left side). Slide it down to deploy and up to retract. Do not use the sun visor in low light conditions or at night.

4. Ventilation System

The helmet features adjustable vents for airflow. Typically, there are vents on the chin bar and top of the helmet. Slide the levers on these vents to open or close them, allowing you to control internal airflow and reduce fogging.

Maintenance and Care

1. Cleaning the Helmet Shell

2. Cleaning the Visor

• Visor Fogging: Ensure ventilation vents are open. Consider using an anti-fog insert (Pinlock, if compatible) or anti-fog spray.
• Loose Chin Strap: Re-adjust the micrometric buckle for a snug fit. If the strap mechanism is damaged, discontinue use and seek professional inspection.
• Modular Chin Bar Not Latching: Ensure no debris is obstructing the mechanism. Apply gentle, even pressure until it clicks into place. If it consistently fails to latch, do not use the helmet in the closed position.
