4. Setup
4.1 Battery Installation
- Locate the battery compartment cover on the back of the MD7822 meter unit.
- Slide or unclip the cover to open the compartment.
- Insert one 9V battery, ensuring correct polarity (+ and - terminals).
- Close the battery compartment cover securely.

4.2 Probe Connection
Connect the cable from the measuring probe to the designated port on the MD7822 meter unit. Ensure the connection is firm and secure.
5. Operating Instructions
5.1 Power On/Off
Press the POWER button to turn the meter on. Press and hold the POWER button to turn the meter off.
5.2 Grain Species Selection
The MD7822 allows for selection of different grain types to ensure accurate moisture readings. Press the SELECT button to cycle through the available grain species (e.g., Wheat, Corn, Rice, Paddy). The selected grain type will be indicated on the display.

5.3 Moisture Measurement
- Ensure the correct grain species is selected using the SELECT button.
- Carefully insert the measuring probe into the grain sample. Ensure the probe is fully immersed and stable within the grain.
- The moisture content (%) will be displayed on the LCD screen. Allow a few moments for the reading to stabilize.
5.4 Temperature Measurement
To switch between moisture and temperature display, press the H/T button. The display will show the temperature in Celsius or Fahrenheit. Press H/T again to return to moisture measurement.
5.5 Data Hold Function
Press the MAX HOLD button to freeze the current reading on the display. Press it again to release the hold and resume live measurement.
5.6 Backlight Activation
Press the backlight button (often indicated by a light bulb icon) to turn the display backlight on or off, improving visibility in low-light conditions.
6. Maintenance
6.1 Cleaning
To clean the meter unit and probe, wipe them with a soft, dry cloth. For stubborn dirt, a slightly damp cloth can be used, followed by immediate drying. Do not use abrasive cleaners or immerse the unit in water.
6.2 Battery Replacement
When the low battery indicator appears on the display, replace the 9V battery as described in Section 4.1. Prompt battery replacement ensures accurate readings and proper device function.
6.3 Storage
Store the MD7822 meter and probe in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. If storing for an extended period, remove the battery to prevent leakage.

- No Display/Meter Not Turning On: Check if the 9V battery is installed correctly and has sufficient charge. Replace the battery if necessary.
- Inaccurate Readings:
- Ensure the probe is fully and stably inserted into the grain sample.
- Verify that the correct grain species is selected on the meter.
- Check for any damage or corrosion on the probe pins.
- Ensure the ambient temperature and humidity are within the specified operating range.
- Low Battery Indicator: Replace the 9V battery immediately to maintain measurement accuracy.
