Instruction Manual for ONKYO A/V Receiver Remote Control

Introduction

This manual provides essential information for the proper use and maintenance of your Easytry123 RC-763M replacement remote control for ONKYO A/V Receivers. This remote is designed to provide core functionality for compatible ONKYO models, including TX-SA578, TX-SR578, TX-NR616, RC-747M, TX-NR3007, TX-NR5007, PR-SC5507, and TX-SA706. Please note that while this remote offers broad compatibility, some advanced or specific functions of your original receiver remote may not be supported.

Setup

Battery Installation

The remote control requires two (2) AAA batteries (not included). Follow these steps to install the batteries:

1. Locate the battery compartment on the back of the remote control.
2. Press down on the tab and slide the battery cover downwards to open it.
3. Insert two AAA batteries, ensuring the positive (+) and negative (-) terminals align with the markings inside the compartment.
4. Slide the battery cover back into place until it clicks securely.

Operating Instructions

This remote control is pre-programmed for compatible ONKYO A/V Receivers. No additional programming is typically required. Simply point the remote at your receiver and press the desired button.

Key Functions

• ON/STANDBY: Powers the receiver on or off.
• INPUT SELECTOR (CD, DVD, TV, etc.): Switches between different audio/video input sources connected to your receiver.
• VOLUME (+/-): Adjusts the master volume level of the receiver.
• MUTE: Toggles the audio output on and off.
• NAVIGATION (Up, Down, Left, Right, ENTER): Used to navigate menus and confirm selections on your receiver's display.
• PLAYBACK CONTROLS (Play, Pause, Stop, Skip): Controls playback for connected media devices (e.g., CD player, network player).
• LISTENING MODE: Cycles through various audio listening modes (e.g., Stereo, Surround Sound).
• NUMBER BUTTONS (0-9): Used for direct input of channel numbers, track numbers, or other numerical selections.
• DIMMER: Adjusts the brightness of the receiver's display.

Maintenance

• Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the remote control. Do not use liquid cleaners or abrasive materials, as they may damage the surface or internal components.
• Battery Replacement: Replace batteries when the remote's response becomes sluggish or it stops functioning. Always replace both batteries at the same time with new ones of the same type.

Troubleshooting

• Remote not responding:
  • Ensure batteries are installed correctly with the correct polarity.

  • Ensure you are within the effective operating range and angle of the receiver.
• Some functions do not work:
  • This is a replacement remote. Not all functions of your original receiver remote may be supported. Verify if the function is listed on the remote's buttons.
  • Ensure your receiver model is listed as compatible with this remote (RC-763M, TX-SA578, TX-SR578, TX-NR616, RC-747M, TX-NR3007, TX-NR5007, PR-SC5507, TX-SA706).
• Receiver responds intermittently:
  • Batteries may be low. Replace them.
  • Clean the remote's IR emitter window and the receiver's IR sensor with a soft cloth.
