3. Physical Description and Components
The AudioCodes 445HD phone features a user-friendly layout with essential components for efficient communication:
- Handset: Ergonomically designed for comfortable calls. Connects via a coiled cord.

- Numeric Keypad: Standard 0-9 keys for dialing, along with *, #, and function keys.
- Navigation Cluster: Central "OK" button with directional arrows for menu navigation.
- Function Buttons: Dedicated buttons for "Meet now", "Missed", "Forward", "Status", "Menu", "Contacts", "Redial", "Transfer", "Hold", and volume control.
- Integrated LCD Sidecar: A dedicated screen on the right side of the phone for displaying contacts, presence information, and programmable line keys (BLFs).
- Speakerphone Button: For hands-free communication.

4. Setup
4.1. Assembling the Phone
- Attach the Stand: Align the desk stand with the slots on the back of the phone unit and snap it into place.
- Connect the Handset: Plug one end of the coiled handset cord into the handset and the other end into the handset port on the phone base.
4.2. Connecting to Network and Power
- Ethernet Connection: Connect one end of the Ethernet cable to the LAN port on the back of the phone and the other end to your network switch or router. If your network supports Power over Ethernet (PoE), the phone will power on automatically.
- Power Adapter (Optional): If PoE is not available, connect the optional AC power adapter (not included in all packages) to the power port on the back of the phone and then to a power outlet.
- Boot Up: The phone will begin its boot-up sequence. This may take a few moments. Once complete, the screen will display the main idle screen.
5. Operating Instructions
5.1. Basic Call Functions
- Making a Call:
- Pick up the handset, press the speakerphone button, or press a line key.
- Dial the desired phone number using the numeric keypad.
- Press the Dial soft key or wait for the call to connect automatically.
- Answering a Call:
- When the phone rings, pick up the handset, press the speakerphone button, or press the flashing line key.
- Ending a Call:
- Hang up the handset or press the End Call soft key.
5.2. Using the Integrated LCD Sidecar
The sidecar displays programmable keys, typically configured for speed dials, Busy Lamp Fields (BLFs) to monitor contact presence, or call parking. Use the physical buttons adjacent to the sidecar display to activate the corresponding functions.
5.3. Advanced Features
- Hold: During an active call, press the HOLD button to place the call on hold. Press it again to resume.
- Transfer: During an active call, press the TRANSFER button. Dial the number to transfer to, then press the Transfer soft key.
- Redial: Press the REDIAL button to call the last dialed number.
- Contacts: Press the CONTACTS button to access your phone's directory.
- Menu: Press the MENU button to access phone settings and advanced options.
