6. Operating Instructions
6.1 Measuring pH and Chlorine Levels

Figure 6.1: Proper technique for immersing the probe in pool water for accurate readings.

Figure 6.2: The chlorine level scale on the meter, indicating ideal and caution ranges. The recommended chlorine content for swimming pools and hot springs is 1.2~1.7ppm.

Figure 6.3: The pH level scale on the meter, showing acid, ideal, and alkaline ranges. The recommended pH for swimming pools and spas is 7.2-7.8.
- Before testing, ensure the water sample is still and free of debris.
- Press the 'PH/CL2' button to turn on the meter.
- Immerse the probe into the water sample, ensuring both metal electrodes are fully submerged.
- Wait for the reading to stabilize on the large display.
- Read the pH and chlorine (CL2) levels directly from the meter's scale.
- Compare the readings with the ideal ranges indicated on the meter's display (e.g., for chlorine: 1.2-1.7ppm; for pH: 7.2-7.8).
- After use, remove the probe from the water and wipe it clean and dry.
- Press the 'PH/CL2' button again to turn off the meter.
6.2 Calibration
Accurate calibration is crucial for reliable readings. Please follow these steps carefully:
- You need to prepare a 1.5 PPM (parts per million) chlorine solution in the pool water for initial calibration. This serves as your reference point.
- If you are unsure if the chlorine content is exactly 1.5 PPM, or if you cannot easily create a precise calibration point, it is recommended to use a traditional test strip or a professionally verified water sample to confirm the 1.5 PPM chlorine level.
- Once the pool water has been calibrated with the 1.5 PPM chlorine solution, there is generally no need to recalibrate unless you change to measure a different pool's water or if you suspect the meter's accuracy has drifted.
7. Maintenance
7.1 Cleaning
- After each use, gently wipe the probe electrodes with a soft, clean cloth to remove any water residue or contaminants.
- Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents on the meter or probe.
- Keep the main body dry. If it gets wet, wipe it immediately with a dry cloth.
7.2 Storage
- Store the meter and probe in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
- If storing for an extended period, remove the battery to prevent leakage and damage to the device.
- Utilize the probe slot on the main unit for secure storage of the probe when not in use.
