4. Setup and Wiring
Proper wiring is crucial for the safe and correct operation of the STC-1000. Refer to the diagram below and follow the instructions carefully.

Wiring Instructions:
- Power Supply (Terminals 1 & 2): Connect your 110-220V AC power source to terminals 1 and 2. Ensure the voltage matches the device's specifications.
- Temperature Sensor (Terminals 3 & 4): Connect the provided temperature sensor to terminals 3 and 4. The sensor is non-polar, so connection order does not matter.
- Heating Output (Terminals 5 & 6): Connect your heating device (e.g., heating pad, lamp) to terminals 5 and 6. This output will activate when the temperature falls below the set point minus the hysteresis.
- Cooling Output (Terminals 7 & 8): Connect your cooling device (e.g., fan, chiller) to terminals 7 and 8. This output will activate when the temperature rises above the set point plus the hysteresis.
Important Note: Strictly distinguish interfaces of relay, sensor, and power. Ensure sensor down-lead and power wire are kept a proper distance to avoid interference.
5. Operating Instructions
Control Panel:
- Power Button: Turns the device on/off.
- Set (S) Button: Enters setting mode to adjust parameters.
- Up Arrow (▲) Button: Increases values or navigates menu.
- Down Arrow (▼) Button: Decreases values or navigates menu.
Setting Temperature Parameters:
- To View Current Set Temperature: Press the 'S' button once. The display will show the current set temperature.
- To Adjust Set Temperature:
- Press and hold the 'S' button for 3 seconds until the display flashes.
- Use the Up (▲) or Down (▼) arrows to adjust the desired temperature set point.
- Press the 'S' button again to confirm and exit.
- To Set Hysteresis (Difference Value):
Hysteresis (also known as differential) is the temperature difference between the set point and when the heating/cooling output turns off. This prevents rapid cycling of the connected devices.
- Press and hold the 'S' button for 3 seconds.
- Press the Up (▲) button once to cycle through parameters until you see "d" (differential/hysteresis).
- Use the Up (▲) or Down (▼) arrows to adjust the hysteresis value.
- Press the 'S' button again to confirm and exit.
- Temperature Calibration:
If the displayed temperature does not match a known accurate thermometer, you can calibrate the sensor.
- Press and hold the 'S' button for 3 seconds.
- Press the Up (▲) button multiple times until you see "C" (calibration).
- Use the Up (▲) or Down (▼) arrows to adjust the calibration offset.
- Press the 'S' button again to confirm and exit.
The STC-1000 automatically switches between cooling and heating modes based on the set temperature and hysteresis.
6. Maintenance
- Cleaning: Regularly wipe the unit with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or immerse the unit in water.
- Sensor Care: Ensure the temperature sensor is clean and free from debris. Avoid bending or damaging the sensor cable.
- Ventilation: Ensure the controller has adequate ventilation to prevent overheating.
- Connections: Periodically check all wiring connections to ensure they are secure and free from corrosion.
7. Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Display shows "HHH" or "LLL" | Sensor error or temperature out of range. | Check sensor connection. Ensure temperature is within -50℃ to 99℃. Replace sensor if damaged. |
| Heating/Cooling device not activating | Incorrect wiring, set temperature/hysteresis, or faulty device. | Verify wiring according to diagram. Check set temperature and hysteresis. Test connected heating/cooling device independently. |
| Inaccurate temperature reading | Sensor placement, calibration needed, or faulty sensor. | Ensure sensor is in the correct environment. Perform temperature calibration. Replace sensor if necessary. |
| Unit does not power on | No power supply or incorrect wiring. | Check power source and ensure power supply wires are correctly connected to terminals 1 and 2. |
