Operating Instructions
Passive Keyless Entry (PKE)
The PKE feature provides automatic locking and unlocking of your vehicle based on your proximity to the car with the key fob.
- Automatic Unlock: When you approach your car within 1-2 meters with the key fob, the car doors will automatically unlock.
- Automatic Lock: When you walk away from your car by 2-3 meters with the key fob, the car doors will automatically lock.

This diagram demonstrates the Passive Keyless Entry (PKE) auto-unlock function. When the key fob is within 1-2 meters of the vehicle, the system automatically unlocks the car doors.

This diagram illustrates the Passive Keyless Entry (PKE) auto-lock function. When the key fob moves 2-3 meters away from the vehicle, the system automatically locks the car doors.
Arming and Disarming
Use the dedicated buttons on the LCD pager remote to manually arm (lock) or disarm (unlock) the alarm system. Refer to the 'Button function' diagram in the Product Overview section for button identification.
Remote Trunk Release
If your vehicle supports it and the system is properly connected, you can open the trunk remotely using the designated button on the LCD pager remote. An extra trunk release solenoid kit may be required for some vehicles (e.g., ASIN: B00N4RP8VM).
Shock Warning
The shock sensor provides two-stage shock detection. A light impact will trigger a warning chirp, while a heavier impact will trigger the full alarm. The system also records shock events.
Recharging the Key Fob
The LCD pager remote is rechargeable. If the key fob battery power is low or there is no reaction on the LCD display when you press a button, recharge the key fob for approximately 2 hours using the provided USB cable.
Maintenance
To ensure optimal performance and longevity of your EASYGUARD EC204 system, follow these general maintenance guidelines:
- Keep the main control module and other components dry and away from extreme temperatures.
- Regularly recharge the LCD pager remote to maintain its functionality.
- Avoid dropping the key fobs or exposing them to harsh impacts.
- Periodically check all wiring connections for security and integrity.
Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your EASYGUARD EC204 system, consider the following common solutions:
- Remote Not Responding / LCD Display Off: The key fob battery may be low. Recharge the key fob for approximately 2 hours.
- System Not Functioning: Verify all wiring connections are secure and properly installed. Ensure the main control module is receiving power.
- PKE Not Working Consistently: Check the placement of the PKE antennas to ensure they are not obstructed. Ensure the key fob is within the specified range (1-3 meters).
- False Alarms: Adjust the sensitivity of the shock sensor. Refer to the shock sensor's adjustment screw.
- Remote Working Distance Shorter Than Expected: Environmental factors such as radio interference or physical obstructions can reduce the effective range.
For complex issues or if troubleshooting steps do not resolve the problem, it is recommended to consult a professional car alarm installer or contact EASYGUARD customer support.
