Setup and Installation

The Oculux 7011 track head is designed for easy installation into compatible track systems. Ensure power is OFF at the circuit breaker before proceeding.

1. Track Compatibility

This fixture is designed to work with standard 120V H-type track systems. The first character of the model number (H-7011-WD-WT) indicates compatibility with H-type track. Ensure your existing track system matches this type for proper fit and function.

2. Installing the Track Head

  1. Align the track head adapter with the track slot.
  2. Insert the adapter into the track.
  3. Twist the track head to lock it securely into place. Ensure a firm connection to establish electrical contact.

3. Beam Angle Adjustment

The Oculux 7011 includes two beam angle options: a 50° beam film (pre-installed) and an interchangeable 30° film. To change the beam angle:

  1. Carefully remove the baffled front cover of the fixture.
  2. Remove the pre-installed 50° beam film.
  3. Insert the 30° beam film with the gloss side facing out.
  4. Reattach the baffled front cover.
  5. For a spot beam without a film, remove both films.

It shows how to insert the films with the gloss side out or remove them for a spot beam.

4. Dimmer Compatibility

The Oculux 7011 is designed to dim with a Triac dimmer. For optimal performance and to avoid flickering, ensure your dimmer switch is compatible with LED fixtures and specifically a Triac type. If experiencing flickering, an electronic dimmer may be required.

Operating Instructions

1. Powering On/Off

Once installed, turn on the power at the circuit breaker. The track head will illuminate when power is supplied to the track system.

2. Dim-to-Warm Functionality

The Oculux 7011 features a unique dim-to-warm technology. As you dim the light fixture using a compatible Triac dimmer, the LED color temperature will gradually shift from a brighter 3000K (warm white) to a warmer 1800K (very warm amber light). This mimics the dimming effect of traditional incandescent bulbs, creating a cozy ambiance.

3. Aiming the Fixture

The Oculux 7011 track head offers flexible aiming capabilities:

  • Horizontal Aiming: The fixture can be rotated 350° horizontally along the track.
  • Vertical Aiming: The fixture can be tilted 90° vertically to direct light precisely where needed.

Maintenance

To ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your WAC Lighting Oculux 7011 track head, follow these simple maintenance guidelines:

  • Cleaning: Ensure the power is off before cleaning. Use a soft, dry, or slightly damp cloth to wipe the exterior of the fixture. Do not use abrasive cleaners, solvents, or polishes, as these can damage the finish or electrical components.
  • Bulb Replacement: This fixture uses integrated LED technology, meaning the LED light source is not user-replaceable. If the LED fails, the entire fixture may need to be replaced.
  • Inspection: Periodically check the fixture and track connections for any signs of damage or loose wiring. If any issues are found, disconnect power and consult a qualified electrician.

Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your Oculux 7011 track head, refer to the following common problems and solutions:

  • Fixture does not illuminate:
    • Check if the power is on at the circuit breaker.
    • Ensure the track head is securely seated and making proper electrical contact with the track.
    • Verify that the track system itself is receiving power.
    • Confirm that the track head is compatible with your track type (H-type for model H-7011-WD-WT).
  • Light flickers or dims inconsistently:
    • Ensure you are using a compatible Triac dimmer designed for LED lighting.
    • Some older or incompatible dimmer switches may cause flickering. Consider replacing your dimmer with a modern electronic dimmer specifically rated for LED loads.
  • Light output is too low or not dimming properly:
    • Verify the dimmer is fully adjusted to its maximum setting for full brightness.
    • Ensure no beam films are obstructing the light path if maximum brightness is desired without a specific beam angle.
