2. Safety Information

5. Setup
5.1 Battery Installation
The Core FXQ38 BW requires two CR123A batteries. Locate the battery compartment, typically on the side or bottom of the device. Insert the batteries according to the polarity indicators (+/-) inside the compartment. Close the battery cover securely.
5.2 Monocular Use
To use the device as a monocular, attach the provided eyepiece to the rear of the unit. Ensure it is securely fastened. Adjust the diopter on the eyepiece for clear focus.
5.3 Clip-on Attachment
To use the device as a thermal attachment for your riflescope, you will need a compatible DN clip-on adapter (not included). Attach the Core FXQ38 BW to the front of your riflescope using the adapter. This allows your traditional riflescope to remain zeroed while gaining thermal imaging capabilities.
6. Operating Instructions
6.1 Power On/Off
Press and hold the power button (refer to product overview images for button location) for a few seconds to turn the device on. The display will illuminate. To turn off, press and hold the power button again until the display shuts down.
6.2 Digital Zoom
The Core FXQ38 BW features a 2x digital zoom. Use the designated zoom buttons (often marked with '+' and '-') to cycle through magnification levels. In monocular mode, the device offers a 6.2x magnification.
6.3 Calibration Modes
The device supports manual, automatic, and semi-automatic calibration modes to optimize image quality. Consult the on-screen menu (accessed via control buttons) to select your preferred calibration method. Calibration helps to remove image artifacts and improve thermal uniformity.
6.4 Pixel Repair Function
If you notice any 'stuck' or 'dead' pixels on the display, the device includes a pixel repair function. Access this feature through the device's menu to remap or disable faulty pixels, improving your viewing experience.

7. Maintenance
7.1 Cleaning
Use the provided cleaning cloth to gently wipe the lenses and exterior surfaces. For stubborn dirt, a small amount of lens cleaning solution designed for optics can be applied to the cloth. Do not use abrasive materials or harsh chemicals.
7.2 Storage
When not in use, store the device in its carrying case in a cool, dry place. Remove batteries if the device will not be used for an extended period to prevent leakage.
8. Troubleshooting
- Device does not power on: Check battery orientation and ensure batteries are fully charged. Try new batteries.
- Poor image quality: Perform a calibration. Ensure lenses are clean. Adjust focus if applicable.
- Display flickering: This may indicate low battery. Replace or recharge batteries.
