4. Setup Guide
4.1 Initial Setup
- Power On: Connect the camera to the power adapter and plug it into a power outlet. The camera will power on and initiate its self-test.
- Download Foscam App: Search for "Foscam" in the App Store (iOS) or Google Play Store (Android) and download the official Foscam app.
- Create Account: Open the Foscam App and register a new account or log in if you already have one.
4.2 Network Connection
The Foscam R4S supports both 2.4GHz and 5GHz WiFi connections for flexible placement and stable performance.
- Add Camera: In the Foscam App, tap the "+" icon to add a new camera.
- Scan QR Code: Follow the in-app instructions to scan the QR code located on the bottom of your camera.
- Connect to WiFi: Select your WiFi network (2.4GHz or 5GHz) and enter the password. The camera supports sound wave and QR code setup technology for quick configuration.
- Completion: Once connected, the camera will appear in your device list.

- Tabletop Placement: Simply place the camera on any flat, stable surface with a clear view of the area you wish to monitor.
- Wall/Ceiling Mount:
- Attach the mounting bracket to the desired location using the provided screws.

- Adjust the camera's angle as needed using the Pan/Tilt controls in the app.
5. Operation
5.1 Live View & Recording
Access the live video feed from your camera anytime, anywhere via the Foscam App. You can also manually record video or capture snapshots.
5.2 Two-Way Communication
Use the built-in microphone and speaker to communicate with people on the camera's side. Tap the microphone icon in the live view to speak and the speaker icon to listen.
5.3 Motion & Sound Detection
Configure detection zones and sensitivity settings in the app. When motion or sound is detected, the camera will send instant alerts to your phone and can automatically record footage.
5.4 Night Vision
The camera automatically switches to night vision mode in low-light conditions, providing clear black-and-white video up to 33 feet.
5.5 Privacy Mode
Activate Privacy Mode from the app to physically hide the camera lens, ensuring complete privacy when needed. This stops all recording and transmission.
