1. Product Overview

The Trane TCONT850_v2 ComfortLink Thermostat is designed as a replacement for obsolete American Standard ACONT900 / CNT04838 models. It is an integral part of an AccuLink Communicating System, which is an integrated and self-configuring system allowing components to communicate automatically.

Important Note: This thermostat is specifically designed for and only works with communicating HVAC systems. It will NOT function with standard non-communicating systems.

• Use 18-gauge color-coded thermostat cable for all wiring connections.
• All unused thermostat wires must be grounded at the indoor unit chassis ground only.
• If system interference is experienced, shielded cable may be required. Ground only one end of the shield to the system chassis.
• Do not run thermostat wires in the same bundle with HVAC power wires.
• Always keep thermostat wiring away from high voltage wiring to avoid interference.
