How to Play (Operating)
The goal of Clue Junior is to be the first player to correctly identify which toy was broken, who broke it, and when it was broken. Players move around the board, gathering clues by looking under character pawns and furniture tokens.
Gameplay Steps:
- Roll the Die: On your turn, roll the die. The die has numbers (1-4) and two special colored sides (yellow and white).
- Move Your Character:
- If you roll a number, move your character pawn that many spaces along the footprints. You can move horizontally or vertically.
- If you land on a space with a white base, you can peek under any character pawn on the board.
- If you land on a space with a yellow base, you can peek under any furniture token on the board.
- Gather Clues:
- When you peek under a character pawn, note the toy shown on its white base.
- When you peek under a furniture token, note the time shown on its yellow base.
- Mark off the revealed clues on your Detective Notepad. This helps you eliminate possibilities.
- Special Die Rolls:
- If you roll the yellow side of the die, you may peek under any furniture token on the board.
- If you roll the white side of the die, you may peek under any character pawn on the board.
- Make an Accusation: Once you believe you know which toy was broken, who broke it, and when, you can make an accusation on your turn.
- Move your pawn to the center space of the board.
- State your accusation: "I accuse [Character Name] of breaking the [Toy Name] at [Time]!"
- Carefully lift the broken toy token in the center of the board. If your accusation matches the character pawn and time token underneath, you win the game!
- If your accusation is incorrect, you are out of the game, but you must not reveal the correct answer.
