AQUA CREST AQU-WF55

AQUACREST AQU-WF55 Water Filter Instruction Manual

Model: AQU-WF55 | Brand: AQUA CREST

1. Introduction

The AQUACREST AQU-WF55 water filter is designed to provide high-efficiency filtration for your drinking water. This filter utilizes a premium coconut carbon block to reduce chlorine, taste, and odor, as well as heavy metals, sediment, and rust. The filter's housing is made from food-grade plastic, ensuring safety and preventing impurities from leaching into your water.

The AQU-WF55 is an upgraded model from AQU-9601 and is compatible with various Moen faucet series, including Moen 9601 ChoiceFlo, 9600, 9602, 9500, 9502, and Moen Chateau, Sip, and AquaSuite series faucets (F87400, F7400, F87200, 77200, CAF87254, S5500). Please note that this filter is designed for cold water lines only and does not reduce Total Dissolved Solids (TDS).

2. Setup and Installation

Follow these steps to properly install your AQUACREST AQU-WF55 water filter. Ensure you have all necessary tools and components before beginning.

Installation Steps:

  1. Turn off Water Supply: Locate and turn off the cold water valve under your sink. Turn on your kitchen faucet to release any residual water pressure.
  2. Disconnect Cold Water Hose: Using a wrench, carefully remove the cold water hose from the cold water valve.
  3. Connect Inlet Hose: Connect the 3/8" female compression end of the filter's inlet hose to the cold water valve. Tighten securely with a wrench.
  4. Connect Filter Inlet: Connect the other end of the inlet hose to the filter inlet.
  5. Connect Outlet Hose: Connect the 3/8" male compression end of the filter's outlet hose to your faucet hose.
  6. Connect Filter Outlet: Connect the other end of the outlet hose to the filter outlet.
  7. Mount the Filter: Select a proper position on the cabinet wall. You can use the provided bracket or cable tie mounts to secure the filter horizontally or vertically for better flexibility.
  8. Restore Water Supply: Turn the cold water valve back on.
  9. Flush the Filter: Turn on your faucet and let the water run for at least 5 minutes to flush the filter. It is normal to observe dark water at the beginning due to carbon fines; this will clear up. Check all connections for any leaks.

4. Maintenance and Filter Replacement

To ensure optimal performance and continuous supply of fresh, filtered water, it is recommended to replace your AQUACREST AQU-WF55 filter every 6 months or after filtering 750 gallons of water, whichever comes first. The actual lifespan may vary based on your local water quality and usage.

Replacement Steps:

  1. Turn off Water Supply: Turn off the cold water valve under your sink and open the faucet to relieve pressure.
  2. Remove Old Filter: Twist the old filter counter-clockwise (lefty loosey) to unlock it from the filter head. Pull it straight down to remove. Be prepared for a small amount of water to spill.
  3. Install New Filter: Remove the protective cap from the new AQU-WF55 filter. Align the new filter with the filter head and push it up, then twist clockwise (righty tighty) until it locks into place.
  4. Restore Water Supply and Flush: Turn the cold water valve back on. Flush the new filter by running water from the faucet for 5 minutes to remove any air or carbon fines. Check for leaks.

5. Troubleshooting

If you encounter any issues with your AQUACREST AQU-WF55 water filter, refer to the following common troubleshooting tips:

  • Cloudy Water After Installation: This is normal. Carbon fines may be present in the new filter. Continue flushing the filter for 5-10 minutes until the water runs clear.
  • Slow Water Flow: Ensure the cold water supply valve is fully open. If the flow remains slow, the filter may be clogged and require replacement, especially if it's nearing the end of its 6-month or 750-gallon lifespan.
  • Leaks at Connections: Turn off the water supply immediately. Check all hose connections to ensure they are tightly secured. If using quick-connect fittings, ensure the hoses are fully inserted.
  • Unusual Taste or Odor: If an unusual taste or odor persists after flushing, ensure the filter is correctly installed and seated. If the issue continues, the filter may need to be replaced.
