1. Battery Installation and Charging

2. Connecting the Scanner

The scanner supports three connection modes: 2.4G Wireless, Bluetooth, and USB Wired.

2.1. 2.4G Wireless Mode

For wireless connection to a computer:

  • Plug the 2.4GHz Wireless USB Dongle into an available USB port on your computer.
  • Turn on the barcode scanner. It should automatically pair with the dongle. The indicator light will confirm connection.

2.2. Bluetooth Mode

For wireless connection to smartphones, tablets, or Bluetooth-enabled computers:

  • Ensure the scanner is powered on.
  • Activate Bluetooth on your host device (phone, tablet, computer).
  • Search for available Bluetooth devices. The scanner should appear as "Symcode Barcode Scanner" or similar.
  • Select the scanner to pair. The indicator light on the scanner will change to confirm successful pairing.
  • The scanner supports Bluetooth HID, SPP, and BLE protocols. For most applications, HID (Human Interface Device) mode, which simulates a virtual keyboard, is sufficient.

2.3. USB Wired Mode

Connect the scanner directly to your computer using the provided USB cable. The cable serves both for charging and data transmission. No driver installation is typically required.

Operating Instructions

1. Scanning Barcodes

To scan a barcode:

  1. Point the scan window of the scanner at the barcode.
  2. Press the scanning switch. A red laser line will appear.
  3. Ensure the laser line crosses the entire barcode. A successful scan will be indicated by a beep and/or a change in the indicator light.

Note: This is a 1D barcode scanner. It cannot read 2D barcodes (like QR codes, PDF417) or barcodes from device screens. It may also struggle with barcodes on silver foil paper that reflects light.

2. Offline Storage

The scanner features a built-in 16MB high-capacity memory, capable of storing over 50,000 1D barcodes in offline storage mode. This allows you to collect data without being constantly connected to a host device. Once connected, you can upload the stored data.
