1. Safety Information

Please read all safety warnings and instructions carefully before installing or servicing this electronic timer. Failure to follow these instructions may result in fire, electric shock, serious injury, or death.

WARNING: Risk of Fire or Electric Shock

  • Disconnect power at the circuit breaker(s) or disconnect switch(es) before installing or servicing.
  • More than one circuit breaker or disconnect switch may be required to de-energize the equipment before servicing.
  • Installation and/or wiring must be in accordance with national and local electrical code requirements.
  • Use COPPER conductors ONLY.
  • Do NOT remove the plastic insulator covering the terminals.

Note: This device includes multilingual safety warnings (English, French, Spanish) directly on the unit for user reference.

Wiring Instructions: To wire, lift the terminal, remove the screw, and swing it aside. Replace the screw and the plastic insulator covering the terminal before powering on the unit.

3. Installation

Installation should only be performed by a qualified electrician in accordance with all national and local electrical codes.

Installation Steps:

  1. Power Disconnection: Before beginning any installation, ensure that power to the circuit is completely disconnected at the main circuit breaker or disconnect switch. Verify with a voltage tester.
  2. Mounting: Mount the timer securely in the desired location, ensuring it is protected from moisture and extreme temperatures.
  3. Wiring: Connect the power supply and load wires to the appropriate terminals on the timer. Refer to the wiring diagram provided with the unit for specific connections. Ensure all connections are tight and secure. Use copper conductors only.
  4. Insulator: Do not remove the plastic insulator covering the terminals.
  5. Power Restoration: Once wiring is complete and verified, restore power to the circuit.

4. Setup and Programming

The ET2745C timer features an intuitive interface for setting the time, date, and programming events.

Initial Setup:

  1. Power On: After installation and power restoration, the display will illuminate.
  2. Set Current Time and Day:
    • Press the MODE button to enter the time setting mode.
    • Use the CLEAR ENTRY (+/-) buttons to adjust the hour and minute.
    • Press the DAY button to select the current day of the week.
    • Press ENTER/NEXT to confirm and move to the next setting, or MODE to exit.

Programming Events:

  1. Enter Program Mode: Press the MODE button repeatedly until 'PROG' or 'EVENT' appears on the display.
  2. Select Channel: Use the ON/OFF buttons (one for each channel) to select the channel you wish to program.
  3. Set ON/OFF Times:
    • Press ENTER/NEXT to cycle through ON and OFF events for the selected channel.
    • Use the CLEAR ENTRY (+/-) buttons to set the desired time for each event.
    • Use the DAY button to select the days of the week for the event to be active (e.g., Mon-Fri, Sat-Sun, or individual days).
  4. Save and Exit: Press ENTER/NEXT to save each event. Once all events are programmed, press MODE to exit programming mode.

Holiday Blocks:

The timer allows for programming up to 50 holiday blocks. Refer to the detailed programming guide in the full manual for specific instructions on setting holiday schedules.

Clear Memory:

To clear all programmed events, press the CLEAR MEM button. Confirm the action if prompted by the display.

5. Operating Instructions

Once programmed, the ET2745C timer will operate automatically according to your set schedule.

Manual Override:

Each of the four ON/OFF buttons can be used for a temporary 2-hour manual override. Pressing an ON/OFF button will toggle the corresponding channel's state (ON to OFF, or OFF to ON) for a 2-hour duration, after which it will revert to the programmed schedule.

Display Information:

The display shows the current time, day, and the status of each channel. Indicators on the display will show which channels are currently active.

6. Maintenance

The Intermatic ET2745C timer is designed for reliable, long-term operation with minimal maintenance.

  • Cleaning: Periodically wipe the exterior of the timer with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Inspection: Annually inspect the wiring connections for tightness and signs of wear or damage. Ensure the unit is free from dust and debris.
  • Supercapacitor: The internal supercapacitor provides backup power for programming. It does not require user maintenance or replacement.

7. Troubleshooting
