Setup and Installation

Proper placement and installation are crucial for the effective operation of your smoke detector. Follow these steps carefully:

1. Choosing a Location

2. Mounting the Detector

The SD2K0AX can be installed using the provided screws or with magnetic adhesive pads (sold separately).

  1. Screw Installation:
    • Mark two drill holes on the ceiling or wall using the mounting bracket as a template.
    • Drill holes and insert the anchor plugs.
    • Attach the mounting bracket using the provided screws.
    • Align the detector with the mounting bracket and twist clockwise until it clicks into place.
  2. Magnetic Adhesive Pad Installation (Optional, pads sold separately):
    • Ensure the mounting surface is clean, dry, and smooth.
    • Attach the magnetic adhesive pads to the back of the mounting bracket.
    • Press the bracket firmly onto the desired location on the ceiling or wall.
    • Align the detector with the mounting bracket and twist clockwise until it clicks into place.

Once mounted, the detector will automatically activate. The LED indicator will flash once every 60 seconds in standby mode.

Operating Instructions

1. Testing the Detector

It is recommended to test your smoke detector weekly to ensure proper operation.

2. Silencing the Alarm
