Multi-Switch Compatibility

The smart switch can operate independently or integrate into multi-switch setups with add-on switches (model 46199). Up to four add-on switches can control the same light, fan, or appliance.

Range Extender

The in-wall Z-Wave switch repeats the signal from your hub or other Z-Wave device, extending wireless range by up to 150ft.

Installation

Before beginning installation, ensure power is turned off at the circuit breaker. This smart switch requires a neutral wire for operation.

Wiring Instructions

The SimpleWire technology automatically detects line and load wires. Connect the two black wires to the line/load terminals, the white neutral wire to the neutral terminal, and the green ground wire to the ground terminal. The included neutral wire jumper can be used if needed.

Air-Gap Switch

The switch features an air-gap switch at the bottom. Pulling this small plastic piece out will disconnect power to the switch, allowing for safe maintenance or troubleshooting without needing to flip the circuit breaker. Pushing it back in restores power.

Setup & Configuration

Pairing with Z-Wave Hub

To enable smart control, pair your Enbrighten switch with a compatible Z-Wave hub (e.g., Ring, Wink, SmartThings, HomeSeer, Vera). The switch supports Z-Wave Plus 500 series with S2 security and SmartStart for enhanced protection and simpler pairing using QR codes.

Changing LED Behavior

The LED indicator light on the switch can be configured to show different statuses. Refer to your Z-Wave hub's instructions or the video below for specific steps on how to change the LED behavior (e.g., LED ON when switch is OFF, LED ON when switch is ON, LED OFF Always, LED ON Always).

Operating Instructions

Once installed and paired, the Enbrighten Smart Switch can be operated manually by pressing the rocker paddle to turn lights ON/OFF. For smart control, use your compatible Z-Wave hub's app or voice commands via Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant.

Maintenance

Clean the switch and wall plate with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents. Ensure power is disconnected using the air-gap switch or circuit breaker before cleaning or performing any maintenance.

Troubleshooting

• Switch not responding: Check the circuit breaker and ensure the air-gap switch is fully inserted. Re-pair with your Z-Wave hub if necessary.
• LED indicator not working as expected: Refer to the LED behavior configuration section or your hub's manual to adjust settings.
• Connectivity issues: Ensure the switch is within range of your Z-Wave hub or another Z-Wave device acting as a repeater.
