Setup Guide

1. Controller Power Supply

The DUMBORC X4 transmitter supports three power supply methods:

  1. Dry Battery (AA): Open the battery compartment cover. Insert 4 full 1.5V AA dry batteries, ensuring correct polarity. The metal terminals on the battery should connect to the metal terminals in the compartment.
  2. Lithium Battery: Install a 2S lithium battery into the lithium battery socket. The socket has an anti-reverse insertion function, preventing damage from incorrect polarity.
  3. USB Power: Connect a USB cable to the controller's USB power port. Use only a 5V power supply to avoid damaging the remote controller.

2. Binding Process

To bind the receiver to the transmitter:

  1. Press the receiver button. The LED indicator will flash rapidly, indicating it has entered binding mode. The receiver will automatically search for the nearest transmitter signal.
  2. Once successfully bound, the LED indicator on the receiver will remain ON.

3. Steering Wheel Installation

To install or adjust the steering wheel:

  1. Push the steering buckle up and down.
  2. Locate the slot and push the steering wheel into place.

4. Channel Settings and Adjustments

The transmitter features various adjustment knobs for precise control:

  • CH1: Reverse for Steering (REV/NOR switch): Adjusts the steering direction.
  • CH1: Sub-trim for Steering: Fine-tunes the neutral position of the steering.
  • CH1: EPA for Steering: Sets the maximum travel for steering.
  • CH2: Reverse for Throttle (REV/NOR switch): Adjusts the throttle direction.
  • CH2: Sub-trim for Throttle: Fine-tunes the neutral position of the throttle.
  • CH2: EPA for Throttle: Sets the maximum travel for throttle.
  • Simulator Interface / PPM Signal Interface: Located on the top of the transmitter.
  • USB Power Supply Mouth: Located on the top of the transmitter, limited to 5V power supply.

Operating Instructions

1. Basic Operation

Once the transmitter and receiver are powered on and bound, you can control your RC model. The gun-style design allows for easy one-handed operation. Use the steering wheel for directional control and the trigger for throttle control.

2. LED Indicators

  • Direction Control Mode (Servo Normal Steering): Blue light is always on.
  • Mixed Direction Control Mode (Tank): Red light is always on.
  • Low Voltage Warning: Yellow light flashes slowly.
  • Enter Second Level Menu Setting Mode: Blue/Red light flashes fast.

3. Mixed Mode Operation

In mixed mode, connect the two ESC signal lines to channel 1 and channel 2 of the receiver. The trigger controls both forward and backward movement, and the rotation of the two motors. The positive and negative rotation of the motor can be set using the two positive and negative switches on the control panel. This allows for differential speed control by adjusting channel 1 directional wheel.
