1. Introduction

2. Important Safety Instructions

To reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, or injury, please observe the following safety precautions:

  • Read all instructions before operating the appliance.
  • Do not operate the air purifier if the cord or plug is damaged. Contact customer support for assistance.
  • Keep the appliance away from water or wet areas. Do not immerse in water or other liquids.
  • Always unplug the air purifier from the power outlet before cleaning, performing any maintenance, or when not in use for extended periods.
  • Ensure proper ventilation around the unit. Do not block air inlets or outlets.

3. Product Components

The 3-layer filter includes:

  • Fine Preliminary Filter: Captures large particles such as hair, pet fur, and lint.
  • True HEPA Filter: Traps fine particles as small as 0.3 microns, including dust mites, airborne bacteria, and pollen.
  • Activated Carbon Filter: Neutralizes various household odors, such as cooking smells, pet odors, and cigarette smoke.

4. Setup

Follow these steps to set up your Luby HHA-50 Air Purifier:

  1. Unpack: Carefully remove the air purifier from its packaging.
  2. Install Filter: The filter may come sealed in plastic. Before first use, you must remove the plastic packaging from the filter.
    • Turn the filter cover counterclockwise to unlock and remove it from the base of the unit.
    • Remove the sealed filter, unwrap it, and place it back into the unit.
    • Replace the filter cover and turn it clockwise to lock it securely.
  3. Placement: Place the air purifier on a firm, level surface. Ensure there is at least 15 cm (6 inches) of space around all sides for optimal airflow.
  4. Connect Power: Plug the power cord into a standard electrical outlet.

5. Operating Instructions

The Luby HHA-50 features a touch control panel for easy operation.

  • Power Button (U): Touch to turn the air purifier ON or OFF. When turned on, the unit will start at the lowest fan speed.
  • Fan Speed (Air Flow): Touch the 'Air Flow' icon to cycle through 5 fan speed settings (1 to 5). Speed 1 is the quietest, and Speed 5 provides maximum purification.
  • Timer: Touch the 'Timer' icon to set the operating time for 0.5, 1, 2, 4, or 8 hours. The unit will automatically turn off once the set time expires.
  • Night Light / Display Off: Touch the 'Light' icon to adjust the night light brightness (2 settings) or turn the display lights completely off for an undisturbed sleep environment.
  • Filter Reminder: The 'Filters' indicator light will illuminate when it is time to replace the filter. Refer to the Maintenance section for instructions.

6. Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and extends the life of your air purifier.

Filter Replacement

The filter should be replaced every 6 to 8 months, depending on usage and air quality. The 'Filters' indicator light will illuminate to remind you.

  1. Unplug the air purifier from the power outlet.
  2. Turn the filter cover counterclockwise to unlock and remove it from the base of the unit.
  3. Carefully remove the old filter and dispose of it.
  4. Unwrap the new filter and insert it into the unit, ensuring it is seated correctly.
  5. Replace the filter cover and turn it clockwise to lock it securely.
  6. Plug the air purifier back in. The filter reminder light should reset automatically. If not, press and hold the 'Filters' button for 3-5 seconds to reset it.

Cleaning the Exterior

Wipe the exterior of the air purifier with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.

7. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your air purifier, refer to the following table:
