- Hook Hole: Insert the tip of the sensor holder into this hole. This allows for measurement while keeping your hand further away from heat sources.
- HOLD Button: Press this button during temperature measurement to freeze the displayed temperature value for easier reading and confirmation.
- ON/OFF Button: Press to power the device on or off. The thermometer features an auto power-off function that activates after approximately 10 minutes of inactivity, or if the ambient temperature is below 45°C and the temperature change is less than 3°C.

3. Setup
3.1 Battery Installation
The Tanita TT-583 GR uses one CR2032 coin cell battery. A trial battery is included with your purchase.
- Locate the battery compartment cover on the back of the thermometer unit.
- Use a small coin or screwdriver to open the battery compartment.
- Insert the CR2032 battery with the positive (+) side facing up.
- Replace the battery compartment cover and secure it.

4. Operation
4.1 Basic Temperature Measurement
- Press the ON/OFF button to turn on the thermometer.
- Insert the stainless steel sensor probe into the food or liquid you wish to measure. The sensor is 14 cm long, allowing for deep insertion and safe distance from heat.
- Read the temperature displayed on the digital screen. The display updates every 1 second.
- To turn off the thermometer, press the ON/OFF button again. The device will also automatically power off after approximately 10 minutes of inactivity.

4.2 Using the HOLD Function
The HOLD function allows you to freeze the current temperature reading on the display.
- While measuring temperature, press the HOLD button. The current temperature will remain on the display.
- To resume live temperature measurement, press the HOLD button again.

The included sensor holder can be used to extend your reach and protect your hands from heat.
- Insert the tip of the thermometer's sensor holder into the hook hole located on the main unit.

5. Maintenance
5.1 Cleaning

- Wipe the sensor probe and main unit with a damp cloth.
- Do not immerse the entire unit in water or wash it under running water, as this may damage internal components.

5.2 Storage
