1. Introduction

The i-box Dawn is a versatile bedside alarm clock radio designed to simplify your daily routine. It integrates a digital alarm clock, FM radio, Bluetooth wireless speaker, and both wireless and USB charging capabilities into a single, stylish unit. This manual will guide you through all the features and functions of your new i-box Dawn.

2. Safety Information

Please read and understand all safety instructions before using this product. Keep these instructions for future reference.

• Do not expose the unit to dripping or splashing liquids.
• Do not place objects filled with liquids, such as vases, on the unit.
• Ensure proper ventilation around the unit. Do not block any ventilation openings.
• Do not place the unit near heat sources such as radiators, heat registers, stoves, or other apparatus (including amplifiers) that produce heat.
• Only use attachments/accessories specified by the manufacturer.
• Unplug this unit during lightning storms or when unused for long periods of time.
• Refer all servicing to qualified service personnel. Servicing is required when the unit has been damaged in any way.
• Keep the unit away from strong magnetic fields.

3. Product Overview

3.1 Components

The i-box Dawn unit includes the main alarm clock radio, a power adapter, and a user guide. Familiarize yourself with the various parts of the device.

3.2 Controls and Connections

The i-box Dawn features intuitive controls located on the top panel and essential connections on the rear. Below is a diagram detailing each button and port.

• Wireless Charging Location: Top surface for Qi-enabled devices.
• Next Button: Skips to the next track or FM preset.
• Play/Pause/Bluetooth Button: Controls media playback and Bluetooth pairing.
• Previous Button: Skips to the previous track or FM preset.
• Snooze/Sleep/Dimmer Button: Activates snooze, sets sleep timer, or adjusts display brightness.
• Mode Button: Switches between FM, Bluetooth, and AUX modes.
• Time Setting/Increase Volume Button: Used for setting time and increasing volume.
• Alarm Setting/Decrease Volume Button: Used for setting alarms and decreasing volume.
• Display: LED screen showing time, mode, and other information.
• USB Port: For charging external devices (1A output).

4. Setup

1. Power Connection: Connect the supplied power adapter to the DC Power Port on the back of the unit and plug it into a wall outlet. The display will light up.
2. Battery Backup (Optional): For time backup during power outages, open the Backup Battery Compartment on the bottom of the unit and insert 2 x AAA batteries (not supplied), ensuring correct polarity.
3. Initial Time Setting: Upon first power-on, the clock display will show '0:00'. Press and hold the Time Setting button. Use the Time Setting and Alarm Setting buttons to adjust the hour, then press Time Setting again to confirm. Repeat for minutes.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Setting Time and Alarms

• Setting Time: Follow the steps in Section 4.3. You can switch between 12-hour and 24-hour format by pressing the Mode button during time setting.
• Setting Alarms: The i-box Dawn supports dual alarms (AL1 and AL2).
  1. Press and hold the Alarm Setting button. 'AL1' will flash on the display.
  2. Use the Time Setting and Alarm Setting buttons to set the desired alarm hour, then press Alarm Setting to confirm. Repeat for minutes.
  3. Choose the alarm source (FM radio or buzzer) using the Time Setting and Alarm Setting buttons, then press Alarm Setting to confirm.
  4. Repeat the process for AL2 if desired.
• Activating/Deactivating Alarms: Briefly press the Alarm Setting button to cycle through AL1 On, AL2 On, AL1 & AL2 On, or All Off.
• Snooze Function: When an alarm sounds, press the Snooze/Sleep/Dimmer button to activate snooze for 9 minutes.
• Stopping Alarm: Press any button other than Snooze/Sleep/Dimmer to stop the alarm for the day. It will reset for the next day.

5.2 FM Radio Operation

Extend the aerial on the back of the unit for best reception.

• Auto Scan and Store Presets: Press and hold the Play/Pause/Bluetooth button. The radio will scan for available FM stations and automatically save them as presets (up to 10).
• Manual Tuning: Briefly press the Next or Previous buttons to fine-tune the frequency.
• Selecting Presets: Briefly press the Next or Previous buttons to cycle through saved presets.

5.3 Bluetooth Speaker Function

The i-box Dawn can stream audio wirelessly from your Bluetooth-enabled devices.

• Pairing: Press the Mode button until 'BT' appears on the display. The unit will enter pairing mode. On your device, search for 'i-box Dawn' in the Bluetooth settings and connect.
• Playback: Once paired, you can play music from your device. Use the Play/Pause/Bluetooth, Next, and Previous buttons on the unit to control playback.

5.4 Wireless Charging

The i-box Dawn features a built-in Qi wireless charging pad for compatible smartphones.

• Place your Qi-enabled smartphone centrally on the wireless charging location on top of the unit.
• The charging indicator on your phone should show that it is charging. Ensure the phone is correctly aligned for optimal charging.

5.5 USB Charging Port

A 1A USB port is available on the back of the unit for charging other devices that require a wired connection, such as a second phone or a smartwatch.

• Connect your device's USB charging cable to the USB Port on the back of the i-box Dawn.
• Ensure your device begins charging.

5.6 Display Brightness Adjustment

The LED display has 5 dimming levels to suit your preference, from bright to very dim, ensuring it doesn't disturb your sleep.

• Briefly press the Snooze/Sleep/Dimmer button repeatedly to cycle through the 5 brightness levels.

6. Maintenance

To ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your i-box Dawn, follow these maintenance guidelines:

• Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the surface of the unit. Do not use abrasive cleaners, waxes, or solvents as they may damage the finish.
• Storage: If storing the unit for an extended period, unplug it from the power outlet and remove the backup batteries. Store in a cool, dry place.
• Ventilation: Ensure the ventilation openings are clear of dust and debris to prevent overheating.
