Setup: Spool Installation
Follow these steps to replace the string trimmer line spool:
- Ensure Safety: Disconnect the power source from your string trimmer (remove battery or unplug cord).
- Remove Trimmer Head Cap: Locate the tabs or buttons on the side of your trimmer head. Press them in or twist the cap counter-clockwise to remove the outer cap. Refer to your trimmer's manual if you encounter difficulty.
- Remove Old Spool: Carefully lift out the old, empty, or damaged spool from the trimmer head. Note how the line was routed.
- Prepare New Spool: Take a new P SeekPro replacement spool. Locate the end of the trimmer line.
- Insert Line into Eyelet: Feed the end of the trimmer line through the small eyelet or opening on the trimmer head where the line exits. Ensure the line is securely seated.
- Place New Spool: Align the new spool with the trimmer head. Ensure the line is properly routed and the spool sits flush. The spool may have an arrow indicating the winding direction; ensure it matches the trimmer head's design.

- Secure Cap: Reattach the trimmer head cap, ensuring it clicks into place or twists securely. Give it a gentle tug to confirm it is locked.
- Test Line Feed: Reconnect the power source. Briefly run the trimmer and tap the head on the ground (if it's an auto-feed model) to ensure the line feeds correctly.

Operating Guidelines
Once the spool is installed, operate your string trimmer according to its manufacturer's instructions. The P SeekPro line is designed for efficient cutting. If your trimmer features an automatic line feed, the line will extend as needed when the trimmer head is tapped on the ground during operation. Avoid prolonged contact with hard surfaces to prevent excessive line wear.
Maintenance and Storage
- Spool Storage: Store unused spools in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Extreme temperatures can affect the line's flexibility and durability.
- Line Condition: Periodically inspect the line for fraying or damage. Replace the spool if the line appears compromised.
- Clean Trimmer Head: After each use, clean any grass clippings or debris from the trimmer head to ensure proper line feeding and prevent buildup.
Troubleshooting
- Line Not Feeding:
- Ensure the spool is installed correctly and seated flush.
- Check for tangled line within the spool. Remove the spool and manually unwind a small amount of line if necessary.
- Clean any debris from the line exit eyelets on the trimmer head.
- Line Breaking Frequently:
- Avoid hitting hard objects like fences, rocks, or concrete.
- Ensure the line is not old or brittle. Store spools properly.
- Verify that the trimmer head's cutting blade (if present) is not dull or damaged, which can cause line to break prematurely.
