Operating Instructions
The Superfish Pro Koi Automatic Pond Fish Feeder allows for flexible programming of feeding times and volumes.
Programming Feeding Schedules:
The feeder can be programmed to dispense between 1 and 24 meals per day. Refer to the control unit (Figure 5) for button layout.
- Set Time: Use the "SET" button to enter programming mode. Use "UP" and "DOWN" buttons to adjust the current time. Press "SET" again to confirm.
- Program Meal Times: In programming mode, you can set up to 24 individual feeding times. For each meal, use "UP" and "DOWN" to set the desired hour and minute. Press "SET" to move to the next setting.
- Adjust Feeding Volume: For each programmed meal, you can adjust the volume of food dispensed. This is typically done by setting the duration of the dispensing mechanism's operation. Experiment to find the appropriate volume for your fish.
- Save Settings: Once all desired meals are programmed, exit programming mode (usually by holding "SET" or waiting for it to time out). The feeder will now operate according to your schedule.
Manual Feeding:
The control unit typically includes a "DOWN manual" button (refer to Figure 5). Pressing this button will dispense a single, manual portion of food outside of the programmed schedule.
Important Note on Food Type:
This feeder is specifically designed for fish food granules ranging from 2 mm to 9 mm. It is not suitable for flake or stick foods, as these can clog the dispensing mechanism and lead to malfunction.
Maintenance
- Cleaning: Regularly wipe the exterior of the feeder and control unit with a damp cloth to remove dust and debris. Ensure no water enters the control unit.
- Hopper Cleaning: Periodically empty the hopper and clean it to prevent food residue buildup, which can attract pests or affect food quality. Ensure the hopper is completely dry before refilling.
- Dispensing Mechanism: Check the dispensing mechanism regularly for any obstructions. If food is not dispensing correctly, disconnect power and carefully inspect the mechanism for blockages.
Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Feeder not dispensing food. | No power; hopper empty; food type incompatible; mechanism clogged. | Check power connection; refill hopper; ensure granules are 2-9mm; clear any blockages in the dispensing mechanism. |
| Food dispensing irregularly. | Incorrect programming; food moisture; partial blockage. | Re-check programming settings; ensure food is dry; inspect for partial blockages. |
| Control unit display is off. | No power. | Verify power connection to the outlet and to the control unit. |
Recommendation: Before leaving for an extended period, we strongly recommend a full week of testing the feeder to ensure it operates reliably according to your programmed schedule and dispenses the correct amount of food.
