3. Safety Precautions
To ensure safe operation and prevent damage to the converter or connected appliances, please observe the following safety guidelines:
- Read Instructions: Always read this manual thoroughly before using the converter.
- Correct Voltage Selection: CRITICAL: Always verify the correct input and output voltage setting using the selector switch on the bottom of the unit before plugging in any appliance or connecting to a power source. Incorrect selection can damage the converter and your appliance.
- Power Rating: Do not exceed the maximum power output of 500W. Ensure the total wattage of connected appliances is below this limit. For continuous use, it is recommended to use appliances with a power consumption of 380W or less.
- Ventilation: Place the converter in a well-ventilated area. Do not cover the unit or place it in an enclosed space during operation.
- Moisture: Do not expose the converter to water, rain, or excessive humidity.
- Children and Pets: Keep the converter out of reach of children and pets.
- Damage: Do not operate the converter if the cord, plug, or unit itself appears damaged. Contact customer support for assistance.
- Indoor Use Only: This converter is designed for indoor use only.
- Unplug When Not In Use: Disconnect the converter from the power outlet when not in use.
4. Setup and Voltage Selection
Proper setup of the SW-S15 converter is crucial for its safe and effective operation. The unit features a selector switch on its bottom to choose between step-up (110V to 220V) and step-down (220V to 110V) conversion modes.
4.1 Identifying Input and Output
The front of the converter clearly indicates the input and output voltage settings. There are two indicator lights:
- Input: AC110V 50/60Hz, Output: AC220V 50/60Hz (Red indicator light)
- Input: AC220V 50/60Hz, Output: AC110V 50/60Hz (Green indicator light)

4.2 Setting the Voltage Selector Switch
The voltage selector switch is located on the bottom of the unit. It is imperative to set this switch correctly based on the voltage of the power outlet you are connecting to and the voltage required by your appliance.
WARNING: Failure to set the switch correctly can result in severe damage to the converter and the connected appliance. Always check the switch position before plugging in.

Refer to the following guidelines for setting the switch:
- To Convert 110V to 220V (Step-Up):
- If you are in a region with 110V power (e.g., Canada, Brazil, Japan, United States, Taiwan) and need to power a 220V appliance:
- Set the switch to the position labeled for Input: 110V, Output: 220V.
- The red indicator light on the front will illuminate when powered.
- To Convert 220V to 110V (Step-Down):
- If you are in a region with 220V power (e.g., China, most of Europe) and need to power a 110V appliance:
- Set the switch to the position labeled for Input: 220V, Output: 110V.
- The green indicator light on the front will illuminate when powered.

Figure 6: Voltage Switch Settings. This diagram illustrates the two switch positions on the bottom of the converter, indicating which setting to use for converting 110V to 220V (for use in 110V regions with 220V appliances) and 220V to 110V (for use in 220V regions with 110V appliances), with examples of countries for each setting.
5. Operating Instructions
- Determine Appliance Voltage: Identify the voltage requirement of the appliance you intend to use with the converter (e.g., 110V or 220V). This information is usually found on the appliance's label or in its manual.
- Determine Wall Outlet Voltage: Identify the voltage of the wall outlet you will be plugging the converter into (e.g., 110V or 220V).
- Set Converter Switch: Based on the above, set the voltage selector switch on the bottom of the SW-S15 converter to the correct position (refer to Section 4.2).
- Connect Appliance: Plug your appliance into the universal AC output socket on the front of the SW-S15 converter.
- Connect to Power: Plug the SW-S15 converter's power cord into the wall outlet.
- Verify Indicator: The corresponding indicator light on the front of the converter (red for 110V input/220V output, green for 220V input/110V output) should illuminate, indicating proper operation.
- Power On Appliance: Turn on your appliance.
- Disconnect: When finished, turn off your appliance, then unplug the converter from the wall outlet, and finally unplug the appliance from the converter.
The SW-S15 is suitable for a variety of small household appliances. Examples include:
