4. Pre-Installation: Measuring the Rough Opening

Accurate measurements are crucial for proper installation. The recommended rough opening for this 48" x 80" double pocket door kit is approximately 97" wide x 84 1/2" high. Always measure the width and height in three different points (top, middle, bottom for width; left, middle, right for height) and use the smallest value obtained for your calculations. 5. Installation Instructions

5.1. Door Slab Preparation

The door slabs come pre-finished. Trimming is done only partially and on one side, as the other side is used for hanging the door panel and inserting the bottom guides. The door can be trimmed by 3/4" on the top and bottom, and 3/4" on the left and right sides if necessary. Ensure to cut a groove for the floor guide.

5.2. Pocket Frame Assembly

Assemble the pocket frame according to the provided instructions. The frame features heavy-gauge galvanized steel wrapped split studs that resist rust and provide a rigid pocket structure. Drywall is fastened to these split studs using standard drywall screws. Self-adjusting split stud floor brackets compensate for floor or wall movement, minimizing wall warpage or door binding problems.

5.3. Door Hanging and Adjustment

Attach the door hangers to the top edge of each door slab. Carefully lift and engage the door hangers with the track inside the header. Adjust the door height and alignment as needed using the adjustable door guides and hangers. Ensure smooth operation and proper clearance.

5.4. Lock Hole and Pull Installation

6. Operating Instructions

Your SARTODOORS pocket doors are designed for smooth and quiet operation. Gently slide the doors open and closed using the installed pulls. Avoid forcing the doors, as this can damage the track or the soft-close mechanism (if installed). The soft-close mechanism ensures the doors close gently and quietly.

• Cleaning: Clean the door surfaces with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners or harsh chemicals that could damage the eco-veneer finish.
• Track Maintenance: Periodically inspect the track for any debris or obstructions. Clean the track with a vacuum cleaner or a damp cloth to ensure smooth sliding.
• Hardware Check: Regularly check all screws and fasteners on the door hangers, pulls, and lock mechanisms to ensure they are tight. Tighten any loose hardware as needed.
• Lubrication: The nylon wheeled door hangers are designed for smooth operation and typically do not require lubrication. If any squeaking or stiffness occurs, consult a professional.

• Door not sliding smoothly: Check the track for obstructions or debris. Ensure the door hangers are properly seated in the track and that all wheels are intact. Verify the floor guide is correctly installed and free of friction.
• Door rubbing against the frame: Adjust the door hangers to correct the alignment. Ensure the rough opening dimensions were accurate and the frame is plumb.
• Soft-close mechanism not engaging: Inspect the soft-close mechanism for proper installation and alignment. Ensure the activator arm is making contact with the door.
