1. Getting Started

1.1 Package Contents

Verify that your package contains the following items:

1.2 Battery Installation

Before using the phone, install the battery pack in each cordless handset.

  1. Open the battery compartment cover on the back of the handset.
  2. Plug the battery pack connector securely into the jack inside the compartment.
  3. Place the battery pack with the label UP as indicated.
  4. Close the battery compartment cover.
  5. Place the handset in the charger to charge for at least 16 hours before first use.

1.3 Base Unit and Charger Connection

Connect the base unit and chargers to power and the telephone line.

  1. Plug one end of the telephone line cord into the TEL LINE jack on the back of the base unit.
  2. Plug the other end of the telephone line cord into a telephone wall jack.
  3. Plug the small end of the base unit power adapter into the POWER jack on the back of the base unit.
  4. Plug the large end of the base unit power adapter into an electrical outlet not controlled by a wall switch.
  5. For each charger, plug the small end of the charger power adapter into the POWER jack on the back of the charger.
  6. Plug the large end of the charger power adapter into an electrical outlet not controlled by a wall switch.

1.4 Handset Registration

Your handsets are pre-registered to the base unit. If a handset displays "To register HS, see manual" or if you purchase additional handsets, you will need to register them.

  1. Place the unregistered handset in the base unit charger.
  2. Press and hold the FIND HS button on the base unit for about 4 seconds until the IN USE light on the base unit turns on.
  3. While the IN USE light is on, press the # key on the handset.
  4. The handset will display "Registering..." and then "Handset Registered" when complete.

2.2 Digital Answering System

The answering system can record up to 22 minutes of messages, announcements, and memos. It features a voice guide for easy setup and operation.

You can use the handsets to communicate with each other.

  • Check the telephone line cord for damage.
