Compatibility

The Adonit Note stylus is compatible with a range of iPad models. To ensure proper functionality, your iPad must be updated to iOS 13.3 or above. Additionally, any previously connected digital styluses, such as the Apple Pencil, must be disconnected before using the Adonit Note.

Setup

The Adonit Note is designed for immediate use without complex pairing procedures. Simply press the power button to begin writing or drawing.

Getting Started:

  1. Ensure your compatible iPad is updated to iOS 13.3 or newer.
  2. If you have previously connected another digital stylus (e.g., Apple Pencil) to your iPad, disconnect it from your iPad's Bluetooth settings.
  3. Locate the power button on the barrel of the Adonit Note stylus.
  4. Press the power button once to turn on the stylus. A small LED indicator will illuminate.
  5. The stylus is now ready for use on your iPad. No Bluetooth connection is required.

The Adonit Note offers a natural and precise writing experience with several key features.

Natural Palm Rejection:

Rest your hand comfortably on the iPad screen while writing or drawing. The Adonit Note's palm rejection technology ensures that only the stylus input is registered, preventing accidental marks from your palm.

Wake Up Notes App:

Quickly access the Notes app on your iPad by simply tapping the Adonit Note stylus on the screen. This feature allows for immediate note-taking without navigating through menus.

Maintenance

Proper care and maintenance will ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your Adonit Note stylus.

Charging the Stylus:

The Adonit Note features fast charging capabilities. A 4-minute quick charge provides approximately 1 hour of usage time. A full charge allows for up to 12 hours of continuous use. Use the included Micro-USB cable to charge the stylus.

Replacing the Tip:

The Adonit Note uses a spiral tip design that can be easily replaced if it becomes worn or damaged. Replacement tips are available separately.

  1. Gently twist the existing tip counter-clockwise to unscrew it from the stylus.
  2. Align the new tip with the stylus and twist it clockwise until securely fastened.

Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your Adonit Note stylus, please refer to the following common solutions:

  • Stylus Not Responding:
    • Ensure the stylus is charged. Connect it to the Micro-USB cable and a power source.
    • Verify that the stylus is turned on by pressing the power button. The LED indicator should be illuminated.
    • Check your iPad's iOS version. It must be iOS 13.3 or above for optimal compatibility.
    • Confirm that any other digital styluses (e.g., Apple Pencil) are disconnected from your iPad's Bluetooth settings.
  • Inaccurate or Skipping Lines:
    • Inspect the stylus tip for wear or damage. If worn, replace it with a new Adonit Note tip.
    • Ensure your iPad screen is clean and free of smudges or debris.
  • Palm Rejection Not Working:
    • Verify your iPad's iOS is up to date.
    • Ensure no other styluses are connected via Bluetooth, as this can interfere with palm rejection.
  • No Pressure Sensitivity or Tilt:
    • Please note that the Adonit Note stylus does not support pressure sensitivity or tilt functionality. This is by design for a consistent writing experience.
