Control Layout:
- PLAY/PAUSE (►/−−) Button: Starts or pauses CD playback.
- STOP (■) Button: Stops CD playback.
- SKIP/SEARCH (◀◀ / ►►) Buttons: Skips to previous/next track or fast forwards/rewinds within a track.
- PROGRAM Button: Used to program a custom playback order for tracks.
- MODE Button: Selects different playback modes (e.g., Repeat One, Repeat All).
- VOLUME Control: Adjusts the audio output level.

Setup
1. Powering the Unit
The JENCD60R can be powered by batteries or an optional AC/DC adapter.
Battery Installation:
- Open the battery compartment cover located on the bottom of the unit.
- Insert two (2) AA-size batteries (not included), ensuring correct polarity (+ and -) as indicated inside the compartment.
- Close the battery compartment cover securely.
Note: Remove batteries if the unit will not be used for an extended period to prevent leakage and damage.
Using an AC/DC Adapter (Optional):
- Connect the small plug of a compatible 4.5V DC AC/DC adapter (not included) into the DC IN 4.5V jack on the side of the unit (refer to Figure 3).
- Plug the adapter into a standard AC wall outlet.
- When using the AC adapter, batteries are automatically disconnected.
2. Connecting Headphones
Insert the stereo earbuds (or your preferred 3.5mm headphones) into the PHONES jack on the side of the unit (refer to Figure 3).
Caution: Prolonged listening at high volume levels can cause hearing damage. Always start with a low volume and gradually increase it to a comfortable level.
Operating Instructions
1. Loading a CD
- Gently press the OPEN button or slide the OPEN latch (if present) to open the CD compartment lid.
- Place a CD onto the center spindle with the label side facing up.
- Gently press the CD down until it clicks into place.
- Close the CD compartment lid firmly until it latches.

2. Basic Playback
- To Play: Press the PLAY/PAUSE (►/−−) button. The display will show the track number and elapsed time.
- To Pause: Press the PLAY/PAUSE (►/−−) button during playback. Press again to resume.
- To Stop: Press the STOP (■) button.
- To Skip Tracks: Press the SKIP/SEARCH (►►) button to go to the next track. Press the SKIP/SEARCH (◀◀) button to go to the beginning of the current track, or press twice to go to the previous track.
- To Search (Fast Forward/Rewind): Press and hold the SKIP/SEARCH (►►) button to fast forward or the SKIP/SEARCH (◀◀) button to rewind within a track. Release to resume normal playback.
3. Volume Control
Adjust the VOLUME control wheel located on the side of the unit (refer to Figure 3) to increase or decrease the audio output level.
4. Bass Boost Feature
The unit features a Bass Boost function to enhance low-frequency audio. Locate the BASS BOOST switch on the unit and slide it to the ON position to activate this feature. Slide it to OFF to deactivate. (Note: Some models may have this feature permanently engaged.)
5. Anti-Skip Protection (ESP)
The JENCD60R includes 60-second Electronic Skip Protection (ESP) to prevent audio interruptions during movement. To activate or deactivate this feature, locate the ESP ON/OFF switch on the side of the unit (refer to Figure 3) and slide it to the desired position.
6. Program Play
This feature allows you to program up to 20 tracks to play in a specific order.
- In STOP mode, press the PROGRAM button. The display will show "P01" and flash.
- Use the SKIP/SEARCH (◀◀ / ►►) buttons to select the first track you wish to program.
- Press the PROGRAM button again to confirm the selection. The display will advance to "P02".
- Repeat steps 2 and 3 to program additional tracks.
- After programming all desired tracks, press the PLAY/PAUSE (►/−−) button to start programmed playback.
- To clear the program, press the STOP (■) button twice.
7. Repeat Play
Press the MODE button during playback to cycle through different repeat options:
- REPEAT 1: Repeats the current track.
- REPEAT ALL: Repeats all tracks on the CD.
- OFF: Normal playback (no repeat).
Maintenance
Cleaning the Unit:
- Wipe the exterior of the unit with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
- To clean the CD lens, use a specialized CD lens cleaning kit. Do not touch the lens with your fingers.
Battery Care:
- Always remove old or depleted batteries promptly.
- If the unit will not be used for an extended period, remove the batteries to prevent leakage.
- Dispose of batteries according to local regulations.
Storage:
Store the unit in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures when not in use.
Troubleshooting
