4. Setup and Installation
Follow these steps for proper installation. Ensure power is OFF at the circuit breaker before proceeding.
- Turn Off Power: Locate the circuit breaker controlling the light fixture location and turn it OFF. Verify power is off using a voltage tester.
- Cut Hole in Ceiling: Using the provided template (if applicable) or the fixture's dimensions, cut a 4.25-inch (approximately) diameter hole in the ceiling drywall. Ensure there are no obstructions (joists, pipes, wires) in the ceiling space.
- Open Junction Box: Open the cover of the provided junction box. Remove the appropriate knockout(s) for your electrical wiring.
- Connect Wiring: Insert the electrical supply cable into the junction box through the knockout. Secure the cable with a cable connector. Connect the house wiring to the fixture's junction box wires:
- Connect the black wire (Live) from the house to the black wire of the junction box.
- Connect the white wire (Neutral) from the house to the white wire of the junction box.
- Connect the green or bare copper wire (Ground) from the house to the green wire of the junction box.
- Close Junction Box: Close the junction box cover and secure it.
- Place Junction Box: Place the junction box through the cut-out hole into the ceiling space.
- Connect Fixture to Junction Box: Connect the male/female connectors from the LED fixture to the junction box. Ensure a secure connection.
- Install Fixture: Push the spring clips on the LED fixture upwards and insert the fixture into the ceiling hole. The spring clips will hold the fixture securely in place against the ceiling.
- Restore Power: Turn the power back ON at the circuit breaker.
