4. Setup and Installation
This key switch is designed for flush mounting on a door frame or wall. Ensure proper wiring and secure mounting for optimal performance and safety.
- Prepare Mounting Location: Identify a suitable location for the switch. The mounting cut hole dimensions are 54 x 36mm (2.13" x 1.42"). Ensure there is enough space behind the panel for wiring.
- Cut Mounting Hole: Carefully cut a rectangular hole of 54 x 36mm (2.13" x 1.42") in the desired mounting surface.
- Mount the Switch: Insert the key switch assembly into the cut hole. Align the mounting holes on the panel with the pre-drilled holes (4.5mm / 0.18" diameter, 83mm / 3.27" distance). Secure the panel using the provided mounting screws.
- Wiring Connections:
The switch has contacts for NO (Normally Open), NC (Normally Closed), COM (Common), and TAMP (Tamper). Refer to your access control system's wiring diagram for specific connections.
- NO-COM Configuration: When the switch is ON, the GREEN indicator will be ON. When the switch is OFF, the RED indicator will be ON.
- NC-COM Configuration: When the switch is ON, the RED indicator will be ON. When the switch is OFF, the GREEN indicator will be ON.
Connect the DC 12V power supply to the indicator terminals as required. Ensure all connections are secure and insulated.
- Test Functionality: After wiring, test the switch operation with the provided keys and verify the LED indicator's behavior according to your chosen configuration.

5. Operating Instructions
The uxcell Key Switch operates as a simple ON-OFF mechanism for your access control system.
- Insert Key: Insert one of the provided keys into the keyhole.
- Turn to ON/OFF: Rotate the key to the desired position (ON or OFF). The key is removable in both positions.
- Observe LED Indicator: The integrated LED indicator will change color to reflect the switch's state.
- For NO-COM wiring: Green indicates ON, Red indicates OFF.
- For NC-COM wiring: Red indicates ON, Green indicates OFF.
- Remove Key: Once the desired state is set, the key can be removed.

6. Maintenance
The uxcell Key Switch requires minimal maintenance to ensure long-term reliability.
- Cleaning: Periodically wipe the stainless steel panel with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners or solvents that could damage the finish or internal components.
- Key Care: Keep keys clean and free from debris. Do not force the key if it feels stiff; apply a small amount of graphite lubricant if necessary.
- Connection Check: Annually inspect wiring connections to ensure they remain secure and free from corrosion.
7. Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Switch does not activate/deactivate access control. | Incorrect wiring; loose connections; faulty access control system. | Verify wiring against your system's diagram. Ensure all terminals are securely connected. Test the access control system independently. |
| LED indicator does not light up or changes color incorrectly. | Incorrect DC 12V power connection to indicator; faulty LED; incorrect wiring for NO/NC-COM. | Check the DC 12V power supply to the indicator. Confirm correct NO-COM or NC-COM wiring based on desired LED behavior. |
| Key is difficult to turn or remove. | Debris in keyhole; worn key/lock mechanism. | Clean the keyhole. Apply a small amount of graphite lubricant. If the issue persists, the mechanism may be worn and require replacement. |
