7. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your KVM switch, refer to the following common problems and solutions:

  1. No Display on Monitor:
    • Ensure all HDMI cables are securely connected to both the KVM switch and your computers/monitor.
    • Verify that the monitor is powered on and set to the correct HDMI input.
    • If using 4K resolution, confirm that all HDMI cables are HDMI 2.0 compliant.
    • Try connecting the computer directly to the monitor to rule out cable or computer display issues.
  2. Keyboard or Mouse Not Responding:
    • Check that the USB cables from the computers are connected to the USB1 and USB2 input ports on the KVM switch.
    • Ensure your keyboard and mouse are connected to the dedicated USB ports on the KVM switch.
    • Try connecting the keyboard and mouse directly to the computer to confirm they are functioning correctly.
    • Some specialized gaming mice or keyboards with advanced software may have compatibility issues. Try a standard keyboard/mouse to isolate the problem.
    • Restart the KVM switch by disconnecting and reconnecting the power cable.
  3. Intermittent Disconnectivity (USB/Display):
    • Ensure the KVM switch is receiving stable power. Use the provided DC5V power cable.
    • Check for potential electromagnetic interference from nearby electronic devices (e.g., air conditioning units). Relocate the KVM switch if possible.
    • Verify that all cables are of good quality and securely connected.
  4. Hotkey Switching Not Working:
    • Ensure the keyboard is connected to the dedicated keyboard USB port on the KVM switch.
    • Try both hotkey combinations: Ctrl, Ctrl, 1/2 or Scroll Lock, Scroll Lock, 1/2.
    • Some operating systems or applications might interfere with hotkey recognition. Try switching using the front panel buttons.
