Setup
1. Battery Installation
The EL-1611V calculator operates on four (4) AA batteries, which are included with the unit. An AC adapter is not included but can be used for continuous power.
- Locate the battery compartment on the underside of the calculator.
- Slide open the battery compartment cover.
- Insert four AA batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-) as indicated inside the compartment.
- Close the battery compartment cover securely.

2. Paper Roll Installation
Proper installation of the paper roll is crucial for the printing function. The calculator supports standard 2.25-inch paper rolls.
- Remove the clear printer cover by gently lifting it from the top of the calculator.
- Pull back the metal paper arm (spool holder) and insert a new paper roll onto it. Ensure the paper feeds from the bottom of the roll.
- Feed the leading edge of the paper through the narrow slot at the back of the calculator, just above the paper arm.
- Insert the paper into the printer slot. It is easier to achieve this by arcing the paper downwards slightly.
- Press the Paper Advance Key (usually located on the top left of the keypad, often marked with an arrow pointing up) to feed the paper through the printer mechanism until it emerges from the front slot.
- Reattach the clear printer cover.

Power On/Off
- To turn the calculator ON, press the C-CE key.
