5. Operating Instructions
5.1 Power On/Off and Volume Adjustment
- To power on the radio, rotate the Power/Volume knob clockwise until you hear a click. To power off, rotate it counter-clockwise until it clicks.
- To adjust the volume, rotate the Power/Volume knob. Clockwise increases volume, counter-clockwise decreases it.
5.2 Channel Selection
- The RT619 has 16 available channels.
- Use the Channel Selector knob (usually located on top of the radio) to choose your desired channel. Ensure all radios in your group are set to the same channel for communication.
5.3 Transmitting and Receiving
- To transmit, press and hold the Push-To-Talk (PTT) button located on the side of the radio. Speak clearly into the microphone. The LED indicator will show pink during transmission.
- To receive, release the PTT button. The LED indicator will show light blue when receiving a signal.
5.4 VOX Function (Voice Operated Exchange)
The VOX function allows you to transmit by speaking into the microphone without pressing the PTT button. This is useful when your hands are occupied.

- To deactivate VOX: Power off the radio and then power it on normally without holding any buttons.
5.5 Squelch Function
The squelch function automatically mutes the speaker when no signal is being received, eliminating static noise. The RT619 has an automatic squelch level that is pre-set for optimal performance.

| Cannot communicate with other radios. | Different channels selected; radios out of range; battery low. | Ensure all radios are on the same channel; move closer to other radios; charge battery. |
| Poor sound quality or static. | Out of range; interference; low battery. | Move to a clearer area; charge battery. |
| Radio not charging. | Charging cable or adapter faulty; port dirty. | Try a different cable/adapter; clean the Micro USB port. |
