Introduction
The iStim A6 is an analog Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation (TENS) unit designed for safe, non-invasive, and drug-free pain relief. It delivers stable electrical pulses to stimulate nerve fibers, which can help block pain signals and increase natural endorphins. This device features 2 channels, 3 modes, and adjustable pulse width and rate, making it suitable for managing chronic or acute pain such as shoulder tension, back pain, arthritic pain, and knee pain. Its portable design with a built-in rechargeable lithium battery allows for convenient pain management anywhere.
Safety Information
- Consult a healthcare professional if pregnant, wearing a pacemaker, or suffering from heart disease before using this device.

Setup
- Charge the Device: Before first use, fully charge the iStim A6 unit using the provided USB charger set. The device has a built-in rechargeable lithium battery.
- Connect Lead Wires: Insert the lead wires into the output jacks at the top of the TENS unit. The iStim A6 has two channels, allowing for two sets of electrodes to be used simultaneously.
- Attach Electrodes: Connect the adhesive electrodes to the ends of the lead wires. Ensure a secure connection.
- Apply Electrodes: Clean and dry the skin area where you intend to place the electrodes. Refer to the included Electrode Placement Guide for recommended placement based on the area of pain. Apply the electrodes firmly to the skin. Note: Do not use extra electrode gel, as the electrodes come with Japanese Gel for optimal conductivity and skin adherence.

Operating Instructions
- Turn On and Adjust Intensity: Rotate the Intensity Control knob (located at the top of the unit) clockwise to turn the device ON and gradually increase the intensity. Start with the lowest setting and slowly increase until a comfortable, tingling sensation is felt. Avoid setting the intensity too high, which can cause discomfort. Each channel has its own intensity control.
- Select Mode: Use the Mode Control switch to select one of the three available modes:
- Normal (N): Provides a steady, continuous electrical pulse.
- Burst (B): Delivers short bursts of pulses, often described as a tapping sensation.
- Modulation (M): Offers a gentle wave-like sensation with varying pulse parameters.
- Adjust Pulse Width and Rate: Use the Pulse Width (µs) and Pulse Rate (Hz) control knobs to fine-tune the stimulation.
- Pulse Width: Adjustable from 50-260 µs. This controls the duration of each pulse.
- Pulse Rate: Adjustable from 2-150 Hz. This controls how many pulses are delivered per second.
- Treatment Duration: Follow your healthcare professional's recommendations for treatment duration. Typically, sessions last between 20-30 minutes.
- Turn Off: After your session, slowly decrease the intensity by rotating the Intensity Control knob counter-clockwise until it clicks OFF.

Maintenance
- Cleaning the Device: Wipe the TENS unit with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or immerse the device in water.
- Electrode Care: After each use, place the electrodes back on their protective liners. Store them in a sealed bag to prevent drying out. If electrodes lose their stickiness, they may need to be replaced.
- Storage: Store the device and accessories in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. Use the provided paper case for protection.
- Battery: The device contains a rechargeable lithium polymer battery. Ensure it is charged regularly to maintain battery health.
Troubleshooting
If you encounter any issues with your iStim A6 TENS Unit, please refer to the following common troubleshooting tips:
- No Sensation or Weak Sensation:
- Ensure the device is turned on and the intensity is gradually increased.
- Check that lead wires are securely connected to both the device and the electrodes.
- Verify that electrodes are firmly attached to clean, dry skin.
- Electrodes may be worn out; try replacing them with new ones.
- Ensure the battery is sufficiently charged.
- Pads Not Sticking:
- Clean the skin area thoroughly before application.
- Ensure electrodes are stored properly after use to maintain their adhesive quality.
- Replace old electrodes with new ones if stickiness is lost.
- Discomfort or Irritation:
- Reduce the intensity level.
