3.1. Left Side Ports

4. Setup
4.1. Initial Power On
- Connect the power adapter to the DC-in port on the left side of your laptop.
- Plug the power adapter into a wall outlet.
- Open the laptop lid and press the power button, typically located above the keyboard or on the side.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the initial Windows 10 S setup.
4.2. Windows 10 in S Mode
Your laptop comes pre-installed with Windows 10 in S mode. This mode is streamlined for security and performance, exclusively using applications from the Microsoft Store. For enhanced security, web browsing is limited to Microsoft Edge, and default search is set to Bing.
5. Operating
5.1. Powering On/Off
- To Power On: Press the power button.
- To Shut Down: Click the Start button, then Power > Shut down.
- To Restart: Click the Start button, then Power > Restart.
- To Sleep: Click the Start button, then Power > Sleep, or close the laptop lid.
5.2. Using the Touchpad
The touchpad functions as a mouse. Use single-finger gestures for clicking and dragging, and multi-finger gestures for scrolling and zooming. Refer to Windows settings for customizing touchpad gestures.
5.3. Connecting Peripherals
- Wi-Fi: Connect to wireless networks via the Wi-Fi settings in Windows.
- Bluetooth: Pair Bluetooth devices (e.g., headphones, mice) through Windows Bluetooth settings.
- HDMI: Connect an external monitor or TV using an HDMI cable.
- USB: Plug in USB devices such as external drives, keyboards, or mice into the available USB ports.
5.4. Switching Out of Windows 10 S Mode
Windows 10 in S mode is designed for security and performance, exclusively using apps from the Microsoft Store. To install applications from other sources, you can switch to the full version of Windows 10 Home. This is a one-way switch and cannot be reversed.
- Go to Settings > Update & Security > Activation.
- In the "Switch to Windows 10 Home" section, select Go to the Store.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the switch.
6. Maintenance
6.1. Cleaning the Laptop
- Use a soft, lint-free cloth slightly dampened with water or a specialized screen cleaner to clean the display.
- For the chassis and keyboard, use a soft, dry cloth. Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive materials.
- Periodically clean the ventilation openings to prevent dust buildup.
6.2. Battery Care
- Avoid exposing the laptop to extreme temperatures.
