4. Setup
4.1. Charging the Battery
The HRD-737 radio is equipped with a built-in 700mAh 3.7V lithium battery. Before first use, fully charge the battery.
- Connect the provided charging wire to the DC 5V External Power Supply port (3) on the radio.
- Connect the other end of the charging wire to a standard USB power adapter (not included) or a computer USB port.
- The LCD display will indicate charging status. Once fully charged, disconnect the charging wire.

4.2. Antenna Usage
The radio uses a retractable telescopic antenna for most bands. For enhanced shortwave (SW) reception, use the included extended antenna.
- Retractable Antenna: Extend the telescopic antenna (5) fully for optimal reception. Adjust its length and direction to find the best signal.
- Extended Antenna: For shortwave reception, hold the clip of the extended antenna and attach it to the tip of the retractable antenna. Pull out the retractable antenna and adjust the length and direction of both antennas to improve shortwave signal reception.

5. Operation
5.1. Power On/Off
Press the Power/Sleep Button (1) to turn the radio on or off. A short press may activate sleep mode, while a long press typically powers the device completely off.
5.2. Adjusting Volume
Use the Volume + (7) and Volume - (8) buttons to adjust the audio output level.
5.3. Band Selection
Press the BAND Button (12) repeatedly to cycle through the available frequency bands: AIR, FM, AM, CB, SW, and VHF.

5.4. Tuning and Scanning
The radio supports various methods for finding stations:
- Manual Tuning: Use the Channel + (15) and Channel - (16) buttons to manually adjust the frequency step by step.
- Automatic Search: Press the MODE Button (10) to select an automatic search mode. The radio will scan and stop at strong signals.
- Full Automatic Search and Store: This mode scans the entire selected band and automatically saves all found stations into memory. Refer to the display for instructions during this process.
5.5. Memory Functions
The radio can store up to 50 radio stations per band.
- Storing a Station: After tuning to a desired station, press and hold the MEMO Button (9) to save it. Follow on-screen prompts to select a memory slot.
- Recalling a Station: Press the MEMO Button (9) to enter memory recall mode, then use Channel + (15) and Channel - (16) to navigate through stored stations.
5.6. Headphone Use
For private listening, plug the included headphones into the 3.5mm Headphone Jack (4). The internal speaker will automatically mute.
