3. Setup Instructions

  2. Installing the Skimmer Canister:
    • Ensure your Metal Frame Pool has a round opening in the liner designed for this type of skimmer.
    • Attach the skimmer canister to the pool wall opening according to the pool manufacturer's instructions, ensuring a watertight seal.
  3. Connecting Hoses:
    • Connect one 1.5-inch diameter hose from the skimmer canister outlet to the pump's inlet port.
    • Connect another 1.5-inch diameter hose from the pump's outlet port to the pool's return fitting.
    • Secure all hose connections with clamps to prevent leaks.
  4. Filling the System: Before plugging in the pump, ensure the pool is filled with water to the appropriate level, covering the skimmer opening and return fitting. Allow water to flow into the pump to prime it.
  5. Electrical Connection: Plug the pump into a grounded GFCI-protected electrical outlet. Do not use extension cords.

4. Operating Instructions

Starting the Pump:

  1. Ensure the pump is properly installed and primed with water.
  2. Plug the pump into the GFCI outlet. The pump should start circulating water.
  3. Check for any leaks at connections. Tighten clamps if necessary.

Using the Vacuum Adapter:

  1. Ensure the pump is running.
  2. Attach your pool vacuum hose to the square vacuum plate adapter.
  3. Place the vacuum plate adapter over the skimmer opening inside the pool. The pump will draw water through the vacuum hose, cleaning the pool floor.
  4. Move the vacuum head slowly across the pool floor to collect debris.
  5. After vacuuming, remove the adapter and vacuum hose.

5. Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and longevity of your filtration system.

  • Filter Cartridge Cleaning/Replacement:
    • Disconnect power to the pump before opening the skimmer canister.
    • Remove the filter cartridge from the skimmer canister.
    • Rinse the cartridge thoroughly with a garden hose to remove debris. If the cartridge remains dirty or damaged, replace it with a new one (compatible Summer Waves filter cartridge).
    • Reinsert the clean or new cartridge and secure the skimmer canister lid.
    • Reconnect power and restart the pump.
  • Skimmer Basket Cleaning: Periodically empty the skimmer basket located inside the skimmer canister to prevent blockages and maintain good water flow.
  • Pump Housing: Keep the pump housing clean and free from debris. Ensure ventilation openings are not obstructed.
  • Winterization: Before freezing temperatures, drain all water from the pump and hoses. Store the pump and filter components in a dry, protected area.

6. Troubleshooting
