  1. Ensure the water tank is filled.
  2. Place a cup under the portafilter (without coffee) and another under the steam wand.
  3. Plug the machine into a grounded power outlet. The power indicator light will illuminate.
  4. Press the power button. The machine will begin to heat up.
  5. Once the coffee indicator light stops flashing and remains steady, press the coffee button to dispense water through the portafilter. Let it run for about 30 seconds.
  6. Turn the steam knob to release steam through the steam wand for about 30 seconds.
  7. Turn off the machine. The machine is now primed and ready for use.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Making Espresso

  1. Ensure the water tank is filled and the machine is plugged in.
  2. Press the power button to turn on the machine. Wait for the coffee indicator light to become steady, indicating the machine is heated.
  3. Select the appropriate filter (for 1 or 2 cups) and place it into the portafilter.
  4. Add finely ground espresso coffee to the filter. For a single shot, use approximately 7g; for a double shot, use approximately 14g. Tamp the coffee evenly with a tamper (not included).

  6. Place one or two espresso cups on the drip tray directly under the portafilter spouts.

6. Maintenance

6.1 Daily Cleaning

  • Portafilter and Filters: After each use, remove the portafilter, discard coffee grounds, and rinse the portafilter and filter under running water.
  • Drip Tray: Empty and clean the drip tray regularly to prevent overflow and maintain hygiene.
  • Water Tank: Rinse the water tank daily and refill with fresh water.
  • Steam Wand: Always wipe the steam wand immediately after frothing milk to prevent milk residue from hardening. Periodically, remove the tip of the steam wand (if detachable) and clean any blockages.
  • Exterior: Wipe the exterior of the machine with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or scourers.

6.2 Descaling

Over time, mineral deposits (limescale) can build up in the machine, affecting performance and coffee taste. Descaling should be performed regularly, depending on water hardness and frequency of use (e.g., every 2-3 months).

  1. Use a commercial descaling solution specifically designed for espresso machines, following the manufacturer's instructions.
  2. Alternatively, a solution of white vinegar and water (1:1 ratio) can be used.
  3. Fill the water tank with the descaling solution.
  4. Place a large container under the portafilter and steam wand.
  5. Run several cycles of water through the portafilter and steam wand until the tank is empty.
  6. Rinse the water tank thoroughly and refill with fresh water.
  7. Run several cycles of fresh water through the machine to flush out any remaining descaling solution.
