2. Safety Information

Your safety and the safety of the patient are paramount. Adhere to all safety guidelines provided in this manual.

2.1 Operator Safety

  • The electric motor features a double-insulated protection device to ensure operator safety.
  • Always wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), including eye protection and gloves.
  • Ensure the power supply voltage matches the device's requirements (220V/50Hz).
  • Do not operate the saw in wet conditions or near flammable liquids or gases.
  • Keep the work area clean and well-lit.

2.2 Patient Safety

  • The plaster saw utilizes a micromotor designed for low noise and minimal vibration, enhancing patient comfort.
  • The speed is adjustable from high to low. In actual testing, at gears 1 to 5, the blade passes gently over the skin without causing injury due to its specific vibration frequency.
  • Always maintain visual contact with the cast and the patient's skin during operation.
  • Avoid prolonged contact with a single area of the cast to prevent heat buildup.

6.1 General Operation

  1. Power On: Connect the saw to a 220V/50Hz power outlet. Press the power switch to turn on the device.
  2. Adjust Speed: Use the variable speed roller to select the desired vibration speed. For initial cuts on thick casts, a higher speed (e.g., gear 5 or 6) may be used.
  3. Positioning: Hold the electric plaster saw firmly. The cutting blade should be positioned vertically on the surface of the cast.
  4. Initial Cut: Apply slow, steady pressure to begin cutting the cast material.
  5. Advance the Cut: Once the material is cut through, slightly lift the saw blade and move it forward along the incision.
  6. Repeat: Continue to repeat the process of cutting and advancing until the cast is completely cut open.

6.2 Plaster Removal Operation

  • For plaster removal, adjust the machine to gear 5 or 6 to cut the surface of the plaster.
  • As the blade approaches the patient's skin, reduce the speed by switching to a lower gear (e.g., 1 to 5) to ensure patient safety and comfort.
  • Always ensure the blade is vibrating and not rotating, which is key to its skin-safe operation.

7. Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your electric plaster saw.

  • Cleaning: After each use, disconnect the saw from the power supply. Use a dry cloth to wipe down the exterior of the saw. Remove any plaster or cast debris from the blade and surrounding area using a brush or compressed air. Do not use liquids to clean the motor housing.
  • Blade Inspection: Regularly inspect the saw blades for wear, dullness, or damage. A dull blade can reduce efficiency and increase the risk of overheating.
  • Blade Replacement: The plaster saw blades are consumables. Replace blades when they become dull or damaged. Replacement blades can be purchased from authorized BAOSHISHAN retailers. Refer to Section 5 for blade installation instructions.
  • Storage: Store the saw and its accessories in the portable storage box in a dry, clean environment, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.

8. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your BAOSHISHAN Electric Plaster Saw, refer to the following common troubleshooting steps:

  • Saw does not power on:
