Figure 2: Simple and Easy Wiring Diagram for Installation

This image displays a clear wiring diagram. The touch sensor module has four wires: Green (Touch), White (Common), Red (Lamp), and Black (Power). The diagram illustrates how to connect these to the lamp's power plug (Neutral 'N', Hot 'H') and the lamp's bulb socket. Two options are shown for connecting the Green touch wire: Option 1 involves attaching the metal ring to the lamp base, and Option 2 involves wire-nutting it to an existing touch wire.

  1. Green Wire (Touch): This wire connects to the metallic touch surface of your lamp.
    • Option 1: Attach the yellow metal ring terminal of the green wire to the lamp's metal base, typically by securing it under a bolt or screw that makes contact with the lamp's conductive surface.
    • Option 2: If your lamp has an existing touch wire, cut and strip it, then use a wire nut to connect it to the green wire from the sensor box.
  2. White Wire (Common/Neutral): Use a wire nut to connect the WHITE wire from the sensor box to one of the wires from the lamp and one of the wires from the power plug. This creates a 3-wire connection (1 lamp wire, 1 plug wire, and 1 white sensor wire).
  3. Red Wire (Lamp Hot): Use a wire nut to connect the RED wire from the sensor box to the only remaining wire from the lamp.
  4. Black Wire (Power Hot): Use a wire nut to connect the BLACK wire from the sensor box to the only remaining wire from the power plug.

After all connections are made, ensure they are secure and insulated. Carefully tuck the wires and the sensor module back into the lamp base, ensuring no wires are pinched.

6. Operating Instructions

Once installed, the ESC 3 Way Touch Sensor Dimmer provides convenient control over your lamp's brightness. Simply touch any metallic part of the lamp to cycle through the brightness settings.

This image highlights the universal compatibility of the touch dimmer with three-way light bulbs, one-way light bulbs, LED, and incandescent bulbs. It also shows the LO-MED-HI-OFF sequence and that the module tucks easily under the lamp base.

6.1. Brightness Control Sequence

Each touch on the lamp's metallic surface will advance the light through the following sequence:

  1. First Touch: Low Brightness
  2. Second Touch: Medium Brightness
  3. Third Touch: High Brightness
  4. Fourth Touch: Off

The cycle repeats with subsequent touches.
