3.1 Components and Display

3.2 Buttons and Functions

  • WEEK: Sets the day of the week.
  • HOUR: Sets the hour.
  • MIN: Sets the minute.
  • DEL: Deletes a program setting.
  • CLOCK: Exits programming mode and displays current time. Used with WEEK/HOUR/MIN to set current time.
  • PROG: Enters programming mode to set ON/OFF times.
  • MODE: Cycles through ON, AUTO, OFF modes. Also activates Countdown and Random modes.
  • R (Reset): Resets all settings to factory defaults. Use a pointed object to press.

4. Setup

4.1 Initial Charging and Reset

Before first use, plug the timer into a live electrical outlet for at least 30 minutes to charge the internal backup battery. This battery retains your settings during power outages. After charging, press the 'R' (Reset) button with a small pointed object (like a pen tip) to clear all previous settings and ensure proper operation.

4.2 Setting the Current Time

  1. Press and hold the CLOCK button.
  2. While holding CLOCK, press WEEK to set the current day of the week.
  3. While holding CLOCK, press HOUR to set the current hour (AM/PM will display).
  4. While holding CLOCK, press MIN to set the current minute.
  5. Release the CLOCK button. The time is now set.

To switch between 12-hour and 24-hour format, press CLOCK and MODE simultaneously.

4.3 Daylight Saving Time (DST) Adjustment

To adjust for Daylight Saving Time, press CLOCK and ON/OFF (or a similar button, depending on model variation) simultaneously. The display will show 'SUMMER' or 'WINTER' to indicate the mode. This will advance or retard the clock by one hour.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Setting ON/OFF Programs (Up to 20 Programs)

The timer allows for up to 20 distinct ON/OFF programs. Each program can be set for specific days or groups of days.

  1. Press the PROG button once. The display will show "1 ON".
  2. Press WEEK to select the desired day(s) for this program. Options include:
    • Individual days (MO, TU, WE, TH, FR, SA, SU)
    • All 7 days (MO TU WE TH FR SA SU)
    • Weekdays (MO TU WE TH FR)
    • Weekend (SA SU)
    • Specific combinations (e.g., MO WE FR, TU TH SA)
  3. Press HOUR to set the hour for the "ON" time.
  4. Press MIN to set the minute for the "ON" time.
  5. Press PROG again. The display will show "1 OFF".
  6. Repeat steps 2-4 to set the "OFF" time for the same program.
  7. Press PROG to advance to the next program ("2 ON") or to review existing programs.
  8. Once all programs are set, press the CLOCK button to return to the current time display.

To delete a program, navigate to the desired program (e.g., "3 ON") and press the DEL button. This will clear both the ON and OFF times for that program.

5.2 Activating Programs (AUTO Mode)

For your programs to execute, the timer must be in "AUTO" mode. Press the MODE button repeatedly until "AUTO" appears on the display.

  • ON: The connected appliance is continuously ON, ignoring programs.
  • OFF: The connected appliance is continuously OFF, ignoring programs.
  • AUTO: The connected appliance will turn ON and OFF according to your set programs.

5.3 Countdown Mode

The countdown mode allows you to turn an appliance ON or OFF after a specified duration.

  1. Ensure the timer is in either ON or OFF mode (not AUTO).
  2. Press and hold the MODE button for approximately 3 seconds until "COUNTDOWN" appears on the display.
  3. Use HOUR, MIN, and WEEK (for seconds, if applicable) to set the desired countdown duration.
  4. Press MODE again to start the countdown. The display will show the remaining time.
  5. Once the countdown finishes, the timer will switch the appliance's state (e.g., if it was ON, it will turn OFF).

5.4 Random Mode (Security Feature)

The random mode is designed to deter intruders by turning lights or other appliances ON and OFF at irregular intervals, simulating occupancy when you are away.

  1. Ensure the timer is in "AUTO" mode.
  2. Press and hold the MODE button until "RANDOM" appears on the display.
  3. The timer will now activate and deactivate the connected appliance randomly within a set time window (typically between 6 PM and 6 AM, or based on your programmed ON/OFF times if applicable).
  4. To deactivate random mode, press the MODE button again until "RANDOM" disappears.

5.5 Button Lock Function

To prevent accidental changes to your settings, the timer includes a button lock feature. Press and hold the CLOCK and PROG buttons simultaneously for approximately 3 seconds to lock or unlock the buttons. A lock icon will appear on the display when locked.

6. Maintenance

  • Clean the timer with a dry, soft cloth. Do not use liquid cleaners or aerosols.
  • Ensure the timer is unplugged before cleaning.
  • The internal battery is designed for long-term use and typically does not require replacement. If the display becomes dim or settings are lost frequently, ensure the timer is regularly plugged into a live outlet to recharge the battery.
