1. Introduction
This manual provides detailed instructions for the installation, operation, and maintenance of your GATEXPERT AT1800 Automatic Sliding Gate Opener. Please read this manual thoroughly before beginning installation or operation to ensure proper function and safety. This gate opener is designed for sliding gates with a maximum weight of 1800 lbs and a maximum length of 40 ft.
2. Safety Information
- Ensure all electrical connections are made by a qualified electrician and comply with local codes.
- Do not allow children to play near the gate or operate the remote control.
- Keep the area around the gate clear of obstructions.
- The motor is equipped with a thermal protection feature. If the motor operates continuously for approximately 15 minutes and reaches 120°C, it will automatically stop for safety.
- The infrared photocell sensor system is designed to prevent the gate from closing if an obstruction is detected in its path. If the infrared beam is interrupted during the closing process, the gate will immediately reverse to protect users and property.
- Always use the manual release key to disengage the motor before manually moving the gate.

This section provides a visual guide to the installation process. For detailed written instructions, please refer to the included paper manual.
Video 1: Step-by-step installation guide for the GATEXPERT AT1800 Automatic Sliding Gate Opener, covering mounting, chain, magnet, and wiring.
4.1. Mounting Base Installation
The mounting base must be securely installed on a stable concrete pad. Ensure the base is level and positioned correctly relative to your gate. Four foundation bolts need to be pre-buried in the concrete for secure attachment.
4.2. Chain Installation
Attach the drive chain to the gate opener's sprocket and secure it to the gate using the provided tie rods. Ensure the chain has appropriate tension. If the included 20ft chain is not sufficient, additional chain can be purchased separately.
4.3. Magnet Installation
Install the magnetic limit switch blocks on the gate. The close limit magnet should be positioned so that the height between the magnet and the chain is approximately 42mm (1.65 inches). The open limit magnet should be positioned so that the height between the magnet and the chain is approximately 104mm (4.09 inches). These magnets define the gate's open and closed positions.
4.4. Power Line Installation
Connect the power line to the control board. The power line needs to be prepared by the customer according to local electrical codes and safety standards.
4.5. Infrared Sensor Connection
Connect the infrared photocell sensors to the control board. The wires for the sensors need to be prepared by the customer. Ensure correct wiring to enable the safety reversal feature.
