2. Setup

2.1 Unpacking

Carefully remove the Marantz MCR612 Melody X from its packaging. Retain all packaging materials for future transport or storage.

2.2 Connecting Speakers

The MCR612 offers flexible speaker configurations:

  • Standard Stereo (2 x 60 W): Connect one pair of speakers to the 'A' terminals. This configuration provides 60 Watts per channel.
  • Bi-amplification (2 x 60 W): For compatible speakers, connect the high-frequency terminals to 'A' and low-frequency terminals to 'B'. This provides 60 Watts per channel for improved sound quality.
  • Multi-room (4 x 30 W): Connect two pairs of speakers (e.g., one pair in the main room, one in another room) to 'A' and 'B' terminals. Each pair will receive 30 Watts, with independent volume control.

Ensure correct polarity (+ to + and - to -) for all speaker connections.

2.3 Connecting Audio Sources

3.1 Basic Controls

  • Power: Press the power button on the front panel or remote control to turn the unit on or off.
  • Input Selection: Use the 'INPUT' button on the front panel or the dedicated input buttons on the remote to select your desired audio source (CD, DAB/FM, HEOS, Optical, Analog, USB, Bluetooth).

3.3 Radio Operation (DAB+/FM/AM)

  1. Press the 'DAB/FM' input button.
