2. Safety Information

4. Installation

The Alfred DB2 is designed for easy installation. Ensure your door meets the following specifications:

• Standard 2-1/8 inch (54mm) hole for the deadbolt.
• Adjustable latch bolt for 2-3/8 inch (60mm) or 2-3/4 inch (70mm) backset.
• Door thickness between 1-3/8 inches (35mm) and 2 inches (50mm).

Installation Steps:

1. Prepare the Door: If replacing an existing deadbolt, remove it. Use the provided template to ensure correct hole alignment if installing on a new door.
2. Install the Deadbolt Latch: Insert the deadbolt latch into the door edge. Ensure the 'UP' arrow is facing upwards. Secure with screws.

5. Initial Setup and Programming

After installation, the lock requires initial setup. The lock provides voice prompts to guide you.

5.1. Master Pin Code Creation

The first step is to create a Master Pin Code. This code is essential for programming and managing other user codes and lock settings.

1. Touch the keypad to activate it.
2. Press the # button.
3. Enter a 4-10 digit Master Pin Code.
4. Press the # button to confirm.
5. Re-enter the Master Pin Code.
6. Press the # button to confirm.

The lock will confirm successful Master Pin Code creation.

5.2. Adding User Pin Codes

You can program up to 20 unique user pin codes for family members or guests.

1. Touch the keypad to activate it.
2. Press the # button.
3. Enter your Master Pin Code.
4. Press the # button.
5. Press 1 (to add a user code).
6. Enter a new 4-10 digit User Pin Code.
7. Press the # button to confirm.
8. Re-enter the new User Pin Code.
9. Press the # button to confirm.

Repeat for additional user codes. The lock also supports single-use or timed pin codes, which can be managed via the Alfred Home App.

5.3. Bluetooth Connectivity and App Setup

1. Download the Alfred Home App from your smartphone's app store.

5.4. Z-Wave Module (Optional)

6. Operating Instructions

6.1. Unlocking the Door

• Using a Pin Code: Touch the keypad to activate. Enter your 4-10 digit pin code followed by the # button. The deadbolt will retract.
• One-Touch Entry (Bluetooth): With your smartphone (with Alfred Home App running and Bluetooth enabled) nearby, simply touch the keypad. The lock will detect your phone and unlock.
