4. Setup and Installation
Before installation, ensure the vehicle's power is off to prevent electrical shorts or injury.
4.1 Mounting
- Select a flat surface on your trailer or vehicle for mounting. The lights are designed for surface mounting.
- Position the light and gasket, marking the four mounting holes. The hole-to-hole mounting space is 6-1/4 inches.
- Drill pilot holes if necessary, ensuring they are appropriate for the provided mounting screws.
- Secure the light to the surface using the provided screws, ensuring the gasket is properly seated to maintain a waterproof seal.
4.2 Wiring Instructions
The lights feature a 3-wire design for connection to your vehicle's electrical system. Identify the corresponding wires on your vehicle before connecting.
- White Wire: Connect to Vehicle Ground.
- Red Wire: Connect to Stop/Brake Light circuit (High Brightness).
- Black Wire: Connect to Running/Tail Light circuit (Low Brightness).
Important Note: The brake light (Red Wire) and the running light (Black Wire) cannot be used simultaneously. When the brake is applied, the light will illuminate at high brightness. When the running lights are on, the light will illuminate at low brightness.

Once properly installed and wired, the Partsam 7-inch round LED tail lights will operate automatically with your vehicle's electrical system:
- When the vehicle's running lights or headlights are activated, the LED lights will illuminate at low brightness (tail light function).
- When the brake pedal is pressed, the LED lights will illuminate at high brightness (stop/brake light function).
- When the turn signal is activated, the LED lights will flash at high brightness (turn signal function).

6. Maintenance
These LED tail lights are designed for minimal maintenance due to their durable and sealed construction.
- Cleaning: Periodically clean the lens with a soft cloth and mild soap and water to ensure maximum light output. Avoid abrasive cleaners or solvents.
- Inspection: Regularly check the lights for any physical damage to the lens or housing. Ensure all mounting screws remain tight.
- Waterproof Design: The housing and lens are sonically sealed, making the unit waterproof and suitable for submersible applications like boat trailers. No internal maintenance is required.

7. Troubleshooting
If your Partsam LED tail lights are not functioning correctly, consider the following troubleshooting steps:
- No Light Output:
- Check all wire connections (White, Red, Black) to ensure they are secure and correctly matched to the vehicle's circuits.
- Verify that the vehicle's power source is active and providing the correct voltage (10-30V DC).
- Inspect the vehicle's fuses related to the tail lights, brake lights, and turn signals.
- Ensure the ground wire (White) has a solid connection to the vehicle's chassis.
- Incorrect Brightness/Function:
- Re-check the Red and Black wire connections. The Red wire is for high brightness (stop/turn), and the Black wire is for low brightness (running/tail).
- Remember that the brake light and running light functions are mutually exclusive on the same light.
- Flickering or Intermittent Operation:
- Inspect for loose or corroded wire connections.
- Ensure the power supply is stable and not fluctuating.
If issues persist after performing these checks, it is recommended to consult a qualified automotive electrician or contact Partsam customer support.
