Setup
Unpacking and Placement
- Carefully remove the machine from its packaging.
- Place the machine on a stable, level, and heat-resistant surface. Ensure adequate space around the machine for ventilation.
- Remove all protective films and packaging materials.
Initial Water Fill
- Remove the water tank from the back of the machine.
- Fill the tank with fresh, cold, filtered water up to the MAX line. Do not use distilled water.
- Insert the water tank back into its position, ensuring it is properly seated.
First Use and Priming
- Plug the machine into a grounded power outlet.
- Turn on the main power switch. The LCC display will illuminate.
- The machine will begin to heat up. This process may take 5-10 minutes.
- Once heated, place a container under the hot water spout. Open the hot water valve to dispense about 200ml of water. This primes the boiler.
- Close the hot water valve. The machine is now ready for use.
Operating Instructions
Brewing Espresso
- Ensure the machine is heated to the desired temperature (displayed on LCC).
- Grind fresh coffee beans to a fine consistency suitable for espresso.
- Dose the appropriate amount of ground coffee into the portafilter basket (e.g., 7-9g for single, 14-18g for double).
- Distribute the coffee evenly and tamp firmly with the included tamper.
- Wipe any loose grounds from the rim of the portafilter.
- Insert the portafilter into the brew group and lock it into place.
- Place your espresso cup(s) under the portafilter spouts.
- Press the brew button (usually indicated by a coffee cup icon) to start extraction. The LCC allows for programmable shot times.
- Observe the extraction. A good espresso shot typically takes 25-30 seconds for 30-60ml.
- Press the brew button again to stop extraction, or it will stop automatically if programmed.
- Remove the portafilter, discard the coffee puck, and rinse the portafilter.
Frothing Milk
- Fill a stainless steel milk pitcher with cold milk (dairy or non-dairy) to just below the spout.
- Purge the steam wand by briefly opening the steam valve to release any condensed water. Close the valve.
- Insert the steam wand tip just below the surface of the milk.
- Open the steam valve fully. Lower the pitcher slightly to introduce air, creating a "hissing" sound.
- Once the milk has expanded and reached the desired texture, lower the pitcher further to submerse the wand and heat the milk to approximately 60-65°C (140-150°F).
- Close the steam valve and remove the pitcher.
- Immediately wipe the steam wand with a damp cloth to remove any milk residue. Purge the wand again to clear any internal milk.
Hot Water Dispensing
- Place a cup under the hot water spout.
- Open the hot water valve to dispense hot water for tea or Americanos.
- Close the valve when done.
Maintenance
Daily Cleaning
- Wipe down the machine's exterior with a soft, damp microfiber cloth.
- Empty and clean the drip tray daily.
- Rinse the portafilter and filter baskets after each use.
- Wipe and purge the steam wand immediately after frothing milk.
Backflushing
- Perform a backflush with the blind filter every 1-2 days, or as needed, to clean the brew group.
- Use a small amount of espresso machine cleaning detergent (e.g., PulyCaff) weekly for a deeper clean.
Descaling
- Descale the machine regularly, depending on your water hardness (e.g., every 2-3 months).
- Use a descaling solution specifically designed for espresso machines. Follow the descaling product's instructions carefully.
- Rinse the machine thoroughly after descaling to remove all solution residue.
Water Filter Replacement
- Replace the water softener filter (if used) as recommended by the manufacturer, typically every 35 liters or 1-2 months.
Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| No water flow from brew group | Water tank empty or not seated correctly; pump issue; clogged brew group. | Refill water tank and ensure it's seated; check for blockages; contact support if pump issue. |
| Espresso extracts too fast/thin | Coffee ground too coarse; insufficient coffee dose; tamping too light. | Grind finer; increase coffee dose; tamp more firmly. |
| Espresso extracts too slow/not at all | Coffee ground too fine; too much coffee dose; tamping too hard; clogged filter. | Grind coarser; reduce coffee dose; tamp lighter; clean filter basket. |
| No steam from wand | Steam boiler not heated; wand clogged. | Wait for steam boiler to heat up; clean steam wand tip and purge. |
| Machine not heating up | Power issue; heating element failure. | Check power connection; contact support. |
| Water leaking from machine | Loose connections; damaged seals; tank not seated. | Check water tank seating; inspect connections; contact support for seal replacement. |
