4. Setup
4.1 Powering On
- Connect the USB cable to the intercom unit's power port.
- Plug the AC adapter into a standard wall outlet or connect the USB cable to a 5V 1A power bank.
- The unit will power on, and the blue light on the default channel ID (usually '1') will illuminate.
4.2 Setting Channel and Privacy Code
- Privacy Code (A/B/C): Locate the small switch on the side of the intercom unit. Slide it to select your desired privacy code (A, B, or C). Ensure all intercoms intended for communication are set to the same privacy code.
- Channel Number (0-9): Press the desired channel number key (0-9) on the keypad. The selected channel number will light up. For direct communication, both units must be on the same channel and privacy code.
5. Operating Instructions
5.1 VOX Mode (Voice Operated Exchange)
VOX mode allows for hands-free communication without needing to press the TALK button. It activates when it detects sound within a close speaking range.
- Ensure both intercoms are on the same channel and privacy code.
- Press the VOX button on your unit. The channel number key will flash blue, indicating VOX mode is active.
- To activate communication, speak clearly into the microphone. The indicator light will turn red, and the number key will stop flashing.
- After speaking, the indicator light will go off after 2 seconds, and the channel number key will resume flashing.
- Note: VOX mode has a 24-hour time limit. It will automatically exit after 24 hours if no manual changes are made. You will need to reactivate it daily if continuous VOX monitoring is desired.
5.2 Monitor Function
The Monitor function allows you to continuously listen to audio from another intercom unit, useful for monitoring a baby's room or an elderly person.
- Place the intercom unit you wish to monitor (e.g., in a baby's room) and ensure it is powered on.
- On the monitoring unit, press the MONITOR button. The light on the device will turn red, and this unit enters the monitored state.
- The monitored unit will stay in transmit mode and cannot receive any information unless you exit this mode.
- Note: The Monitor mode has a 10-hour time limit. If you need to monitor for a longer period, reset it every 10 hours.
5.3 Private Call
To initiate a private conversation with a specific intercom unit:
- Ensure both intercoms are on the same privacy code.
- On your unit, press the channel number of the intercom you wish to call.
- Press the CALL button once. The recipient's unit will ring.
- Once the recipient answers (by pressing their TALK button), press and hold your TALK button to speak. Release to listen.
5.4 Group Call
The Group Call function allows you to broadcast a message to all intercom units within the system, regardless of their current channel, as long as they share the same privacy code.
- Ensure all intercoms are set to the same privacy code.
- Press and hold the GROUP button on your unit.
- Speak your message. All other intercoms in the system will hear your broadcast.
- Release the GROUP button when finished speaking.
5.5 Adjusting Volume
- Press the VOL+ button to increase the volume.
- Press the VOL- button to decrease the volume.
6. Troubleshooting
- Channel key does not light: Check the USB power cable connection. Ensure it is correct. Try changing the AC adapter to test.
- Cannot talk and receive: Make sure the Privacy Code switch (A, B, or C) of all intercoms is set to the same code. Choose the desired channel number, then press and hold "TALK" to speak.
- Cannot talk to another intercom: If you followed the previous step and still cannot communicate, you may need to wait until the other user has finished speaking. Or try the units in a different location to improve signal.
- All numbers flashing: The privacy code switch is not set correctly. Re-set the code.
- Important Note: The intercom is a real-time communication system with no memory or storage function. You cannot receive information while talking, and you cannot speak to another user if they are speaking simultaneously.
