Setup and Installation
The modular one-piece construction simplifies installation. Ensure the mounting surface is clean and dry.
- Prepare Mounting Hole: Ensure a standard 1-3/8 inch (35mm) diameter hole is available on the deck surface.
- Install Spout Assembly: Insert the soap dispenser spout assembly through the prepared hole from the top of the deck. Secure it from underneath with the provided mounting hardware.
- Connect Motor Assembly: Attach the motor assembly to the underside of the spout assembly. The motor assembly is designed to rotate 360 degrees for flexible positioning.
- Install Batteries: Open the battery compartment on the motor assembly. Insert the four D-size alkaline batteries, ensuring correct polarity. Close the compartment securely.
- Insert Soap Refill: Remove the cap from a 1500 mL foam soap bottle. Insert the bottle into the designated slot in the motor assembly until it clicks into place.
- Test Operation: Place your hand under the sensor to activate the dispenser. The dispenser should dispense foam soap. If not, check battery installation and soap bottle seating.

Operating Instructions
The Sloan ESD-500 dispenser operates automatically via an infrared sensor.
- Activation: Place your hands directly under the dispenser spout. The infrared sensor will detect your hands and activate the pump.
- Soap Dispensing: A measured amount of foam soap will be dispensed onto your hands.
- Sensor Range: The sensor is calibrated for optimal detection. Avoid placing objects directly in front of the sensor when not in use to prevent unintended activation.

Maintenance

- Battery Replacement: When the batteries are low, the dispenser's indicator light may flash or dispensing may become inconsistent. Replace all four D-size batteries simultaneously. Dispose of old batteries according to local regulations.
- Soap Refill: Replace the soap bottle when empty. Use only Sloan ESD-325 foam soap refills to ensure proper operation and prevent damage to the pump mechanism.
